Posted this on another thread. Maybe should make him the lead on a trade package in offseason?
Trade the only good everyday player we've developed in years, elite defense at the most important defensive position on the field and count on a guy who hasnt played a day in the majors. As much ad I like Westerholt, that just isnt a good idea. A good idea is to keep really good players.
I can’t argue with your logic and understand the concern. But if you had to include him in a package that returned a big right handed bat or a #1 or #2 pitcher wouldn’t you have to consider it? I certainly wouldn’t trade him if it were not a BIG deal.

Maybe he could be Shady's researcher, since Shady has zero ability to do research

It would make a whole lot more sense than moving his value elsewhere and
throwing it away while keeping him on the team.

Besides we have a better arm playing 3B now

Doesn’t have the bat to play 3rd.

Who does? Gorman, Donovan, Saggese, Wetherholt, etc

As others have stated.....I have read nothing that says there is anything “chronic”.
Another MRI coming up.
Considering the Cardinals situation the worst case scenario would be they shut him down early if a surgical procedure is pending.
Just playing out the string in 2025 anyway.
Prep for 2026!

Perhaps if the Dodgers had moved Koufax to left field he would have stayed healthier. One of the dumbest he has done.

Just my opinion-Defense like Winns is a rarer commodity. Yes I would like to see his OPS increase a lot. But mostly I want him and Westerholt both. Trade Donovan if you must.
