Could Liberatore and Pallante be heading back to the bullpen in 2026?

Post by Shady »

If Bloom restocks the starting pitching rotation. He will likely need to try to improve the starting rotation via trades.

Okay, now I get it.

The last game you saw was yesterday which featured a ho hum start from Libby.

So naturally you lump Libby in with Pallante (bleep) poor season…

They’re critically short innings in 2026. Liberatore will be a starter.

No on Libby, have you forgotten who drafted him (Tampa) and where Bloom comes from?

Yes on Pallante or traded or even DFA'd, he's NOT a starter.

Liberatore in, Pallante out, hopefully. Liberatore probably hitting a wall due to first year as full time starter.

Had a good first half and can still finish with ERA well under 4.5. Kyle Gibson made a career out of similar numbers and Liberatore can get better as he should be better conditioned for next year.

Pallante was a bad reliever converted to a starter for whatever reason. Cheap move by ownership so he might still be in play next year.

It would be stupid to move liberatore to the bullpen he just needs to gets stretched out which they are doing. As I predicted in the offseason since they screwed up his development jerking him back and forth between starter and bullpen he would probably hit an innings wall sometime around or shortly after the all star break and I was right. He will be fine

They need to pick up a Matz type, who can move between starting and relieving pretty easily. That's the easy part of the off season. The hard part is they at least one maybe 2 to fit between Gray and Libby.

0% chance on liberatore and instill dont thnk likely for pallante. We just have no sp and dewitts arent wanting to spend to buy several free agents. And gray has 1 more season. This was pallante and libbys first full season as starters so they hope to have better endurance and not fade next year.

I guess you couldn’t find a lame (donkey) MSN article to post as your lead in.

Who would you offer to get a quality starter in return?

Donovan, Nootbaar, Gorman, Arenado (probably part of a package). Also, the Cardinals have some good catcher depth to trade from.
