Player's Poll

Post by JuanAgosto »

I know this topic was posted a few weeks ago, but I came across it again today. The Athletic conducted a player's poll asking which other manager would they like to play for. It was not surprising that Marmol received zero votes. It was surprising that Dusty Baker received two votes. Dusty has been retired for two years!

In a second question, players were asked what opposing manager they would not want to play for. Marmol topped this list with 5 votes. One player was quoted as saying he didn't even know Marmol's name. How embarrassing that an organization such as the StL Cardinals have a manager so lackluster that players cant remember his name.

The way MO likes it. He has about five weeks left, it can't go by fast enough.

I sure hope so. If they want to really convince fans the madness is over, there's a new sheriff, a new direction, blah blah blah, they HAVE to clean house from top to bottom. Bringing in a manager who has accomplished SOMETHING in MLB, whether that be as a player or manager, is step one.

If this cheap*ss FO tries to milk one more year out of Oli simply because he was given the worst extension in the history of managerial extensions, they're not going to convince most people that they're serious about change and restoring a winning culture.

Oli is a cancer who NO ONE wants to play for as evidenced by this poll, as if we really need more evidence. lol

I had a friend who was a principal in a school on the East Side, his philosophy was if you have a turd you have to flush it. Bloom has his turd in Oli and needs to flush twice to make sure he goes deep into the minors. Plenty of better candidates to manage the Cardinals than Oli, at least if they are serious about winning. Hopefully they can convince the candidates they are serious about winning. Flushing Oli would be a step in the right direction. They can even give Oli a gold watch or a participation ribbon for all I care, just flush him.
