That is unfair.
Many of us are disgusted with the FO organization, but still love the team.
Big difference, Cranny.
So you boycott, and turn your back on the team you love?
People are turning their backs on Bill DeWitt and John Mozeliak, who (despite what they think) are NOT the organization.
Exactly....there are real Cardinals fans who love this team and are disappointed in the direction of this franchise. And there are front office (donkey) kissers who want to protect poor DeTwit and his money....and they [fork]ing post over and over on any thread that discusses the problems with Billy

Boycott has nothing to do with it. People are naturally more likely to attend any sporting event based on an expectation of quality.
That’s reality. In Crannyworld Bill DeWitt IS the franchise, and we must show our loyalty for his accomplishments decades ago.

“Through 65 home games, the Cardinals have generated a total attendance of 1,873,875, based on the metric of tickets sold. Right now, that’s an average attendance of around 28,829. If that pace remains similar through the regular season’s end, the Cardinals are on pace for a season attendance of roughly 2,335,137.”
He also explained how this year’s trend would represent a historic low point for the franchise.
“That would mark the team’s lowest for a non-pandemic-restricted season since 1995, when the Cardinals drew a season attendance of 1,756,727. That season? The Cardinals only played 72 home games due to MLB scheduling arrangements out of a players’ strike and would have paced for around 1,976,318 in attendance.”
You should be happy and applaud this
Yes…

There seems to be a lot of focus on dwindling attendance….

For those who desire a new direction for the club it’s the best news they can receive..
+1

These owners have been asleep at the wheel for years
Oh I get it. Boycott the lousy .500 team that’s going through a transition year to allow younger players to mature - in order to show utter disgust.
Yes. This lousy 500 team is entirely in a vacuum. No prior lousy years. No mismanagement. No offensive behavior from management. This came out of nowhere. And costs are super when going to games.

Well said...regular fans who will support a franchise with capable leadership after Mo-ran?...vs. people who state they support DeTwit over the team...and whine about how mean fans are.

Bootlicker Hall of Fame! Wow, what a great term. I'm honored.

All I'm saying is - why throw in the towel when the Cardinals still have a shot at the playoffs? Crazier things have happened.
They've done relatively well, considering it's a rebuilding year. But I guess groaning and moaning is the main course entree on here, so have at it. Dour plays well.

OK, Cranny-a serious question.

How would you, as a fan, suggest expressing displeasure over the last few years of the Cardinal product? Should a real fan just suck it up and hang in patiently with "the team you love?" Clap obediently from the stands after another meltdown that seems to have no end? Is that our responsibility as serious fans, or is it our place to call out a train wreck in perpetual motion?

Respectfully, through many years, I cannot recall you ever saying anything about the team, management, or ownership that could be construed as critical or exasperated-something many of us have felt for sometime. I respect you as a lifelong Cardinal fan, and your willingness to engage with an often hostile audience, but there is a "Dear Leader" element on your perspective of DeWitt that seems to be always be there, you know?

But I digress.

How are we supposed to respond as fans to what we are seeing? How do you see it?

I thought fans were supposed to attend to watch the young players...but. well....just maybe it's really just to make DeTwat richer...at least we have the real truth

I attended a game last week (free tickets) and still spent over $200 on parking, beers, pretzels and a $45 t-shirt

And they lost to the Rockies

Satch -

What’s funny on here is that once a poster is “classified”
people only read what aligns with that classification.
I’ve actually been very critical about certain things over the years, but it’s not noticed because it doesn’t fit the “classification”. I criticized signing Leake. I criticized signing Fowler, and criticized him once he was here.
I criticized the signing of Cecil. I criticized the signing of
Miller. I was highly critical of the appointing of Oli Marmol as manager. He didn't deserve it in any way. If they wanted to stay inside for the move, the obvious choice was Stubby.
And I was highly critical of the appointment of Dusty Blake.
I shudder every time he walks out to the mound.

But also try to counter that with finding things in the organization to be upbeat about. Like what Church was doing at Memphis before being called up. Like Mathews leading the entire minor leagues in strike outs last season,
Like what JJ has been doing as he comes through the system. Like the way McGreevy is pitching in the majors now. Glimmers of hope that we will hopefully in the near future be back on track.

They’ve already done that by booing Mo on opening day.
Two years in a row. They do it on call in sports programs
all the time. They’re aware of the rants from Bernie, and know he has a wide range of listeners.

Wanna try answering his question his ?, which by the way, he asked twice?
I answered him precisely. Satch knows I did. Please stay out of it. All you’re looking for is negative horse manure
Cranny, I’m not sure you did answer me.
I get and appreciate the “hope thing.”
But you didn’t answer my question on Dewitt, which I am curious about. And you did not provide instruction on how we are supposed to, as fans, criticize the team in a productive manner. I’m still all respectful ears.

Dear forum nanny,

I'll engage in the conversation if I choose to, thank you very much.

You've frequently criticized fans for booing or not showing up to display your preferred level of support for the players.

As such, I think it only fair, Emily Post, that you enlighten us as to the proper way(s) we should express displeasure with an inferior product & indifferent leadership...as you were asked & did not answer.
