Mikolas should have been cut loose, not extended. But we knew that. Mozeliak is often the last to know.

A fascinating stat about Mikolas is that even though he's durable and never misses a start, he's a few innings shy of qualifying for the ERA title, so he doesn't show up on the leaders chart when we reverse it to see the worst in the league! (Pallante's fifth worst, and our ace, Sonny, is 10th worst.) This shows how bad he is. He averages a tiny fraction over five innings per start, and will have to pick it up a tad to hit 162.
