Re: 9 conference games are on the way
This sucks. It will just benefit the teams who play nobody all year like the Big 10 and Big 12. Plus teams like Florida allow them to play other instate schools.
Re: 9 conference games starting in 2026
I'm completely in favor, mainly because players and fans will face every conference team and visit every conference stadium over the course of three years. For example, Georgia has yet to play TAMU at College Station after more than a decade.
It'll mean another loss for half the conference but the selection committee claims they will take SoS into consideration going forward. We'll see about that but for now I trust in Sankey.

Per Sankey, schedule reveal with complete with the 3 fixed opponents will likely be in December.
I think will Mizzou will get Arky, OU and who the hell knows...

TAMU would be my guess.Mizzou will get Arky, OU and who the hell knows...
Georgia---Auburn, Florida, South Carolina.
Alabama---Auburn, Tennessee, LSU.
For the rest, as you say, who the hell knows?
Re: 9 conference games starting in 2026
aTm will get Texas, LSU and MSU. Somebody has to play MSU besides Ole Miss. And LSU and aTm have built up a nasty little rivalry as well as Arky vs. aTm.
I don't see Missouri playing nobody from the old SEC East. I think MIssouri will keep Arky and add OU and SC. Maybe Vandy or UK for the 3rd. But Missouri and SC have quite a little rivalry going.

I hope UGA gets Texas. That would guarantee 1 of the 2 a loss. But it probably won't happen. Gotta protect the current Big Boys.

Like they did last year? Twice? Fine with me.I hope UGA gets Texas.
It won't happen though. Auburn and Florida are locks, maybe Tennessee replacing my previous suggestion of SC.
Why not Texas and Missouri? Getting the B12 back together. I think Texas, OU, Arkansas would be fair.

These three would be my pick from an “I don’t like them” perspective.icon wrote: ↑21 Aug 2025 19:25 pmaTm will get Texas, LSU and MSU. Somebody has to play MSU besides Ole Miss. And LSU and aTm have built up a nasty little rivalry as well as Arky vs. aTm.

Arkansas, then OU (with a chance to rise quickly to the top if it becomes annual), original USC.
Obviously all behind ku by miles.
Re: 9 conference games starting in 2026
Getting the B12 back together? Why? Missouri left for a good reason -- Texas being the main one. Playing OU every year would be OK, but not putrid Texas, whom every team in the Big 12 was trying to escape from. Yes for pure hatred, no for nostalgia's sake.jcgmoi wrote: ↑21 Aug 2025 20:03 pmLike they did last year? Twice? Fine with me.I hope UGA gets Texas.

Arky and OU are given. For the 3rd, I'm thinking UK, but hoping for Vandy.
Worst case: we get Texas or A&M,
Long Shot: Ole Miss, USC, or Mississippi State
Re: 9 conference games starting in 2026
Sankey said they will balance regional connections, rivalry legacies, and historical team competitiveness. I doubt Bama gets those 3 teams. My guess is they will get Auburn and Tennessee, then get one easier team like Miss St.
Mizzou’s lock is Arkansas. My other two guesses would be Kentucky and Oklahoma.

We don't want to face Texas and OU each season.
OU, Arky & Vandy would be good for us.

No kidding. But he's not a Missouri fan, so it figures.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑21 Aug 2025 21:47 pmFair for who?jcgmoi wrote: ↑21 Aug 2025 20:03 pmLike they did last year? Twice? Fine with me.I hope UGA gets Texas.
