Robert Thomas was pacing for 94.8 pts last year but he only played in 70 games due to injury
However RT was absolutely en feugo Feb-April '25 in his last 30 reg season GP he banked 45 points in 30 games played thats a 123 pt pace over a full season. This is whats coming for Thomas and Blues fans

what's interesting if you reference my post, is that for whatever reason, it's almost a necessity for a star player to have some time off during the season for their team to make the stanley cup push. I'm sure that wasn't the case in all of the points I posted, but there were a fair amount where guys were missing 7-10 games and that was the reason they didnt accumulate 100 points. I'd assume it's because of freshness, but having been a former athlete. When I busted my ankle my soph year, even when I "recovered" that season, I was still dealing with not getting to 100 percent. Even if that 100 percent changed.

I was just surprised by how many we had between 1990-1994. I mean Craig Janney hit 106 in 92-93. I really gravitate to that time period, I LOVED Shanahan, there are a lot of boys named Brendan born in STL between 91-95. Dude bought Center Ice Hockey in Kirkwood and people lost their minds. He's the one outside of Chaser that are currently eligible I'd like to see inducted.
I'll never forget right around the time Hull got his number retired and they did a night for him where they had the Brett Hull Dream Team of all his favorite Blues teammates. It was Hull, Butcher, Chase, Cujo, Gretz, Shanny, Al, and some others. They had them all out at center ice and at one spot waiting for someone to speak there was 3 seconds of silence. One guy took his shot and screamed "I HATE YOU MIKE KEENAN!!!!" everyone lost their [shirt]. I haven't been able to find the clip.
I think we all know why that is.
Funny guy, My oldest was born in '94 and is named Brendan and (possibly unfortunately for him) there is no doubt he's mine. When he was in school he was never the only Brendan in his class and there were more before and after him. My kids are all adults now, but I understand there are a bunch of young Ryan's starting school in the STL, and more than a few Jordan's.

I remember my older brother (middle name Brendan) was so thankful when Shanahan became popular because people stopped assuming his middle name was like Brandon from Beverly Hills 90210.

Oh God, I forgot about that. That happened all the time. We'd be pushing him in a stroller and get into conversations, people would be like "Brandon's a great name do you watch 90210?" I'd be all huffy (which was dumb, I did watch 90210 but wouldn't name a kid after Brandon Walsh), and say "Um it's Brendan, as in Shanahan.". When Brendan turned 13, my brother was going through a divorce, and his ex came to get her [shirt]. He didn't want to be there (It was amicable-ish) so he went to Cali for the week. When he got home, there was a note on the table that said "I got everything I wanted, there's a pile in the basement. Do what you want with it.". Sitting on the top was her '92 original, blue, CCM, #19 Shanahan jersey. He gave it to my kid for his 13th Birthday. It was huge on her, and huge on him as a teen. He's still fairly thin so he can still wear it when we go to the game. It generates lots of thumbs up and questions about it being OG.

Well done sir! Was it done with permission, or did you sneak it under the wife's radar? My brother in law is still (upset) at my wife (not really) for spoiling his under the radar move. My wife and her siblings were raised here, but the whole big Irish Catholic family is in Chicago. They all grew up Hawks and Cubs fans (I tried so hard, it only worked on my wife). So my brother in law, die hard Cub fan, marries a die hard Cards fan, to the point it was a Cards-Cubs wedding. When she was pregnant with their second, we were at dinner talking names with the family. Her brother announces that they've picked the name Addison. Baby Addie, everyone loved the name. My wife, who is not the movie line quoting machine that the rest of us are had perfect timing. Walking through the kitchen at that moment, she looks at the 2 of them and says "Beautiful name, but, 1060 West Addison, Man that's Wrigley Field, guess Sarah's never seen the Blues Brothers.". My niece Olivia, Baby Livvie, is a teenager now.

That's funny. I was born in '93 and am also named after Shanahan. Shortly after I was born, Dad played pool with him in a bar and got his autograph on a napkin that is now in my baby book somewhere

Outstanding posts, bluetunehead and callitwhatyouwant
Thanks. Was an interesting dive once I went season to season. Could have kept is going to see where the first 100 point player was who won. If you do it, I think it finally happens at 2009 for the penguins with Malkin and Crosby doing it. So it's very interesting that the list is really small. It consists of guys like Gretzky, Lemieux, Coffey... Who all played in much different eras.
The next question I would have related to my 2nd post. I wonder how many Stanley Cup teams had guys that were previously 100 point guys, but relied more on their teammates during the Stanley Cup season which allowed them to win it all. It would open the door for a lot of questions whether it's beneficial to miss some time to stay fresh, whether it's important for players to play a different style that enables their teammates to have more success. how much impact LTIR has etc...

Didn't meet Shanny, but he and the 3 Russians popped into an establishment after a game on the east side that me and a few of the boys were in at the time.
Did meet Vitali Prokhorov though. All he did was smile, laugh, and say he loved St. Louis.
