I don't think Walker would make a very good hitting coach, just based on what I see from his own approach

It’s a worth a shot for certain, cause Walker is lost

Right now Aaron Judge stance and set up are totally different than Walker

Judge attacks his hitting zone, and Walker tries to track and attack the ball, thus his strong whiff and chase rate

Judge has a strong lower base and Walker does not, one is anchored in box and one is off balance in box

Judge like McGwire has a slight knee bend, Walker is straight legged

He is full of [shirt], and the only good stuff he has, he stole from others. BTW, Judge has been asked about Schenck, and he does give him some credit. Judge was also asked about the hitting coaches in the Yankees organization who work with him every day, and he gives them a lot of credit. Personally, if Schenck told me he was drowning, I wouldn't lend a hand. Apologies to Phil Collins. Dave Mantranga introduced Schenck to Judge. Mantranga was a student of Schencks who was out of MLB in 2 years using the same stuff.

There’s a reason there aren’t a lot of 6’6, 250 sluggers that succeed in majors, otherwise there would be a lot of them

They have a huge strike zone for one, and if they expand Or chase they are dead meat.

It takes incredible discipline to zero in on their zone.

Judge and McGwire killed low fastballs and hanging breaking balls knee to thigh high over the center of plate

If you go look at Jordan Walker “hot zone” at Baseball Savant on off speed and curves there’s isn’t any red at all

Back on the bench tonight- he might have another “IL stint” soon so he won’t burn the option year he has left
