I don't recall that ever happening.
I thought every team played every Saturday all season long.

I don't know when the last time was(if ever), but here's the "why" of it:

I am very familiar with that area of Tampa. The baseball stadium is just a couple of blocks up the street from the football stadium. Traffic and parking would be a nightmare. Football is the king of sports in the Tampa area, Though the Rays play in a small stadium, attendance for the baseball game would be greatly affected.

Rays get maybe 11,000 people a night.
Shouldn't be a problem.

Shouldn't be a problem for whom? Any loss of attendance for the Rays is a problem - they average less than 10k per game(9,867). The definitely don't need anything to further discourage fans to attend their games.

The Steinbrenner complex parking area is utilized when the Bucs play a game there. Thus they don’t want those lots used forbasebsll
On Saturday I heard on MLB radio.

Every paying fans helps the Rays bottom line. I don't know how this franchise survives. Instead of expanding the leagues move the team to Nashville or Charlotte etc.

That's a shame. Tampa could have had an extra 50 fans if they had it on Saturday.

I understand the reasoning, but it looks a bit "little brother" ish for baseball to change the schedule in order to accommodate a preseason NFL game. Lots of cities host NFL and MLB games on the same day every year. I understand parking may be an issue, but I don't see why the Buccaneer fans can't park elsewhere. Google earth shows a ton of parking in the area.
