Curious if anyone ever ran into this. I was blacked out of the Cardinals game Monday and again today.
I can’t figure out how to fix it. I tried logging out and back in. I understand MLB has wild blackout areas, but I have a hard time believing Connecticut is part of the Marlins or Cardinals territory.

I've contacted MLB (soon to be ESPN) before when blacked out and they were helpful. https://support.mlb.com/s/contact-usStlcardsblues wrote: ↑20 Aug 2025 18:36 pm Curious if anyone ever ran into this. I was blacked out of the Cardinals game Monday and again today.

First check the locator. https://support.mlb.com/s/game-availability-locator

Re: MLBTV question
This happened to me when the Cardinals played at the New York Mets. Could not understand why. The game was not on any of the local channels or cable channels on my dial. Not Apple +, not MLB-TV, not Prime Video. It was nowhere. Years ago, the Met’s AAA team was located in a city adjacent to where I live, but even if the minor team were still a Mets affiliate, I don’t see how that would impact the blackout. Still a mystery.

Only issues I ever have is if playing Mets or Yanks or if the game is solely on an alternate provider.

The odd thing is it works on my other TVs, just the one says it’s blacked out.Dazepster wrote: ↑20 Aug 2025 19:26 pmIn NYC. Re: MLBTV question
I have on a couple of occasions been blocked illogically. I submitted a complaint through whatever helpdesk platform at mlb.tv, and it was rectified quickly.
MLB.TV (and other content providers) rely on databases that map your public IP address (assigned by your internet service provider) to a geographic location. But, that IP database gets stale sometimes as internet service providers (holding millions of public IP addresses) change configurations and IP assignments.
In both cases, I used https://www.ip2location.com/demo , which was erroneously telling me I was in a region where the Cardinals were playing. I explained in my submission to the help desk that in fact I was located in a different location, my billing address. I don't recall what other "proof" I provided, if any, but it was corrected within minutes.

Re: MLBTV question
Related to my previous post, make sure all are on the same local area network - i.e., the same wifi router in your home - and not with some on your personal wifi, and others on celluar internet. On the offending device, try to find how to delete the "cache", and reboot the device by disconnecting the power cord from the wall for a minute.Stlcardsblues wrote: ↑20 Aug 2025 19:31 pm The odd thing is it works on my other TVs, just the one says it’s blacked out.
This probably requires a new login process once it returns.
