Re: You Can’t Keep Him Down
If you believe he has a chance of being a starter Opening Day 2026, then it would make sense to let him get some MLB exposure in September. Get the MLB awe factor out of the way before 2026.

Idiotic not to bring him up so he can get his feet wet, meet his teammates, find a place to live and learn St. Louis, experience big league travel, the media, ect.....
From a J. Denton column:
Masyn Winn, a leading candidate to win the National League’s Gold Glove award at shortstop in 2025, was promoted from Triple-A Memphis to the Cardinals on Aug. 18, 2023, and he raved about how the experience helped him get better prepared for his full rookie season in 2024.

Great points, and he's EARNED the callup to the show.rockondlouie wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 13:24 pmBINGOBasil Shabazz wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 12:06 pm If you believe he has a chance of being a starter Opening Day 2026, then it would make sense to let him get some MLB exposure in September. Re: You Can’t Keep Him Down
What is gained calling him up today? Wait until he hits the date where he keeps his rookie status for next year.
I do get it if they decide to not use a 40 man roster spot for this year to allow flexibility this offseason for the RuleV draft. But I would do it and reward him for a great season with a taste of the Majors.
Re: You Can’t Keep Him Down
Agreed it is early, but he looks really bad. Sure doesn’t understand the strike zone yet, but that’s true of most of this roster.Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 09:54 am2 games and 8 ABsscoutyjones2 wrote: ↑19 Aug 2025 09:02 am Church is really lighting it up
JJ should have been up from the beginning

You can only hope to constrain him.

Not like he's getting some charity callup, the kids earned it!

Once again….
some want to prioritize an individual player at the risk of damaging the club’s roster issues relative to other concerns….such as the draft…
