I'd say Church is our most consistent hitter.
That's absurd. So you don't agree that McGreevy is the Cardinals most consistent starting pitcher. If not McGreevy, who is?
Mcgreevy has given up 4 or more runs in 5 of his 9 starts.(4 of 9 for earned runs.

He given up 3 or more runs in 6 of 9.

For the season libby and gray have been way more consistent albeit with recent hiccups.

Our rotation has been bad period but mcgreevy hasnt really been any better this far. That can change but hes done nothing you should gloat about so far.

Here's what he has done. The numberss are Innings and Earned Runs
5.2 0 Good game
6 4 Bad Game
5 1 Good Game
4.2 5 Bad Game
7 1 Good Game
4.2 7 Very Bad Game
6 4 Bad Game
6 0 Good Game
6 3 "Good' Game

So what's consistent? Good game Bad Game, repeat

You stated he was the Cards most consistent pitcher after 4 starts. Enough said.

He is a cost-controlled 3/4. Nothing wrong with that, but not a front-end. If you are happy with him being your most consistent starter, then you were happy with the Tewksbury and Bottomfield eras.

I'd say Church is our most consistent hitter.

It’s simple. You got mcg and Pallante at 4/5. They start every five days. They go 5-6 innings. The give up 3-4 runs. As 4/5’s do.

Gray as a 12-15 win number 2. Libby number 3.

What’s missing- ace. Trouble. Where is he?

Add an ace and a bat, we compete.

Right now, McGreevy is pitching much more like a #3 than Liberatore. I agree on Gray as a #2 and needing a true ace.

The problem with taking a snapshot and extrapolating it to cover a body of work is that it is seldom accurate. 162 games is a long six month season. Players have many ups and downs, get hurt, get well, lose command, regain command, have a bad run of luck, then get lucky. I always caution against using any small sample size to draw any dramatic conclusion or to declare anything with much certainty. I love how murky and cloudy and gray baseball is.
