Right now he is bargaining with Ol’ Scratch on the terms of the deal. Keep it up, folks. It is a source of amusement for people who are paying attention. Bill trades for Skenes? Ha, ha. A very likely scenario given all the salary Bill’s trying to get rid of.

This isn't the NFL. There is no such thing as a rookie deal in MLB. He'll be eligible for arbitration after next season which I'm sure he'll start breaking arbitration records each year through 2029.

Juan Soto got $31m last year in his final year of arbitration. It's not as if Skenes won't get paid until 2030.

I was frustrated after Gussie traded Carlton and Reuss and I'm sure Cardinals HOF players Brock and Gibson felt the same way.

Pirates aren't going to trade Skenes just because he is frustrated. If there were going to trade him I don't think the Cardinals have enough to get him.
