Romero isn’t a closer. This team has no closer. Is that what we’re going with now. An average lefty setup guy is now closer and Will be brought in tocardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 17:50 pmRomero is the closer. He pitched well. The IF botched two easy ground balls.
Face Judge, a Stanton off the bench…..a Goldschmidt. That’s the stupidest thing I’ve heard in awhile

I never said Romero is A closer, I said he's THE closer. The funny thing is you blame Oli for this. Who would you have brought in for the 9th inning? And again, Romero gave up zero hard contact. The defense lost this game in the 9th.Goldfan wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 17:53 pmRomero isn’t a closer. This team has no closer. Is that what we’re going with now. Then Walk….not Romero’s fault
Forced to IBB Judge not Romero’s or Oli’s Fault
If you bring in Romero he’s forced to pitch to Judge…..Yanks had 2 righties on bench, ONE being Stanton, completely nullifying Romero

Walk to Stanton, who was clearly being pitched around to not give anything to crush with a runner on 3rd and nobody out, due to previous error and passed ball, was not Romero's fault, you should watch the game.
Forced IBB was a good decision, don't let Judge beat you.
Again, for the 3rd time, who does super genius manager "Goldfan" bring in to lock down the 9th inning?

Re: This is a BAD TEAM
I don’t blame Romero for the botched play at 2nd or the wild pitch. You have to pitch to Stanton though. He’s been on a hot streak, but he still has a 30%+ strikeout rate and chases a lot. Even if he hits a sac fly at least you have bases empty with 1 out to face Judge and only a 1 run deficit. I don’t think loading the bases with no one out is the answer.
I would rather have O’Brien face Stanton (if they even PH him still) and Judge, but maybe he would have gotten rocked too. As others have said, we don’t really have a “closer” so whatever.

Cuse, what answer do you require. I laid out the sequence of events, I said I didn’t know the arms remaining in BP, I said this spot in lineup should’ve been thought of innings before. So again, what answer do you want? Did the inning go exactly how you would design?Cusecards wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 20:07 pmI wish you luck getting a straight and coherent answer!cardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 18:19 pmWP was not Romero's fault, you should watch the game.Goldfan wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 18:17 pmSo WP….not Romero’s faultcardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 18:01 pmAgain, who would you have brought in for the 9th? I don’t require any answer. I never asked a question.
Your thread.
Cardinalsfever44 asked you for an answer to a direct question 3 times.
You didn’t answer HIM!
I think themattmoeller spelled it out pretty succinctly.
I’ll say this...you are remarkably consistent.
