There is a saying in sports ...
You are never as good as when you are playing your best .. and never as bad as when you are playing at your worst .. You are always somewhere in between !
To amass the winning streak the Brewers have currently , you need to play well but also have every break go your way as well . Combine those two and once in a blue moon , you get the current Brewers winning streak. (Remember the Cardinals 17 game win streak ! )
Wonder how they will be playing at the end of September as they head into the playoffs. Expectations will be sky high especially for a fanbase that hasn't been to the World Series since 1982 (losing to the Cardinals ) . They did make it to Game 7 in the NLCS vs. Dodgers and lost the final game 5-1 to the Dodgers in Milwaukee. Other than that , a lot of 'go home early ' playoffs. Will this year be different ?
Since July 16th, Brewers 29-4 Have not lost in August !

They won’t be this hot then. Not possible. So you gotta ask- does the reduced winning at any degree, cause a mental disruption, hence a draw down. Of course at the wrong time of year.ramfandan wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 08:17 am Crazy month !

Yes they are 14-0 in August, and they were 17-7 in July, with a 10 game win streak which included going 6-0 vs the Dodgers!
They have some tough series coming up - after today's game in Cincinnati, they will travel to Chicago to play 5 games vs the small bears, including a DH tomorrow. The cubs cannot afford to lose more ground to the Brewers, as they are already 9 games out. If Milwaukee takes at least 3 of 5 at Wiggley, the cubbies can just about kiss the division championship goodbye.
The Brewers play a 3 game set at Toronto at the end of the month, and the Blue Jays are hot. Beginning in September, the Phillies come to Milwaukee for 3 games, and the series at Texas could be tough. After that, the only team with a winning record the Brewers will face is at San Diego. The Cardinals are on their schedule for 2 series - 3 home and 3 away.
I have never been a Brewer fan in the past, but I have a ton of respect with what they are doing even after losing Corbin Burnes, Willy Adames, and Devin Williams over the last 2 years - plus their manager who the scrubs pried away with their big bux. Of all the teams likely to make the playoffs this season, I will be 100% behind the Milwaukee Brewers to win it all.

I wish that were true, but in fact they lost to the small bears on July 30, which was the last time they lost a game.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 08:48 amThis is without Chourio, and Hoskins...also Swept the Scrubs at the end of July.ramfandan wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 08:17 am Crazy month !

Chourio will likely be back in September - he is running up to 75 percent perceived intensity with no complaints and is in the midst of a throwing/hitting progression. The plan is to initiate a rehab assignment in late August.

The Brewers have a +162 RDIFF. Leads the Majors and no other team is close.

Tend to agree. A couple things happen at end of season. If they maintain this 9 game lead in NLC (or close to it) , they may clinch with nearly two weeks to go. Secondly, the date they clinch the No. 1 seed there is a mental sigh of relief. They may play a week or so of meaningless games.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 08:22 amThey won’t be this hot then. Not possible. Does the manager give any rest to better starters who are nursing minor injuries ? You can be dammed if you do or don’t.
Also do you change your rotation to any tired starters ?
A manager tells his players to keep playing hard but it is never the same when the outcome of the game doesn’t determine making the playoffs.
Then when a team loses games in the final week because some banged up stars had rest days, fans say. That’s ok, when the playoffs stsrt we will win . Sometimes off time cools you off.
We have all seen it.
Re: Since July 16th, Brewers 29-4 Have not lost in August !
Thr Brewers gave great team speed and are aggressive on the base paths. That sometimes results in rushed throws by the defense and other defensive miscues.
The team that beats them will be a team that has error free ball fir the most part.
Yesterday the Reds had 3 errors. The poor throw by Ellie DeLaCruz in 9th cost Reds s win.
