Re: Gray….over 90 and humid
When he can’t pitch in the Stl heat……in the summer…..when they play baseball

Re: Gray….over 90 and humid
He would make a perfect reliever who only pitches 3 or 4 innings a week.
Re: Gray….over 90 and humid
These are the kinds of things that implicate Mo as either stupid, lazy, unserious……
Gray had a long enough track record to parse out this oddity of not being able to perform under extreme conditions(like STL heat and humidity)
Add signing a C who was known not to be good at D(after YADI)
Trading for Goldy and NA who looked like the consummate MVP type and team leaders only to find out they’re not leaders and were only really in season stat accumulators who publicly state that THEY WEREN’T TEAM LEADERS
So posters on here ask why so hard on MO
Those are the deep dive things that a skilled intuitive POBO screen when they’re putting a WINNING TEAM on the field
Our Mo obviously looked at the stat lines only…..much more required when building a WINNING TEAM

Re: Gray….over 90 and humid
It's the grip
"It was just wet, really wet, and I was fighting it,” said Gray, who was tagged for nine hits, six earned runs and two homers in five innings of work. “I was trying to stay mentally in it. I think everyone fought it today. Everyone was missing up because the ball was squirting out of their hands.”"It was just wet, really wet, and I was fighting it,” said Gray, who was tagged for nine hits, six earned runs and two homers in five innings of work. “I was trying to stay mentally in it. Carp sweat like Lizo in a parka straddling the equator as well……he dealt with it. This is Stl weather for at least 2months every season. If your ACErockondlouie wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 08:57 am It's the grip

Can’t compete because of it he has no business being here.

I can still see the sweat pouring off the tip of his cap like Niagara Falls!
Carp was a BEAST.
But we also saw M. Fried, an outstanding pitcher, struggle big time last night too.

All of this is accurate.Goldfan wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 08:36 am These are the kinds of things that implicate Mo as either stupid, lazy, unserious……

It also makes me question the thought process of Sonny Gray though.
After all, he's been around himself all of his life. Why not go to the coast or
airconditioned stadium?
They wanted Murphy, probably couldn't part with some prospect. WC was a plan B.
Re: Gray….over 90 and humid
There hasn’t been a great FEEL for personnel, team construction, winning squad for quite a while. Get wrapped up solely in analytics (bleep) and the intangibles which are required for winning baseball are missed.renostl wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 10:46 amAll of this is accurate.Goldfan wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 08:36 am These are the kinds of things that implicate Mo as either stupid, lazy, unserious……

That's how a guy who is an applicant for manager can get the jobGoldfan wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 11:02 amThere hasn’t been a great FEEL for personnel, team construction, winning squad for quite a while. Re: Gray….over 90 and humid
I wonder if Gray, going into the final year of his deal and likely looking for his next contract, will now WAIVE his NTC to get away from the St. louis humidity which is obviously affecting his performance?
BDWJr will likely have to eat half his deal but coupled w/someone else (Noot, Donny or Burleson?) they could bring back something of value.

He could have a few weeks ago.
If it did, and they did have to "eat" half, They also get to "save" half.
