I still work part time because I enjoy the work and the camaraderie of colleagues I’ve worked with for years. I do a fair amount of training courses in my field and enjoy teaching younger engineers. I visit Cards Talk almost daily, partly to keep up with the team (CT gives me a perspective the fawning STL media won’t), and admittedly, to complain about Cards management. And, yeah, some of the CT denizens and banter are entertaining.
You gotta be kidding me. The software running this site just censored my 2-letter abbreviation for Bachelor of Science and is too stupid to understand it’s not an abbreviation for Bovine Excrement.

Ran my own business for 40 yrs. Sold out and retired in Dec 2020. Played in a band for about 3 yrs, had a blast. Other than that the retired life has not turned out the way I envisioned it. Cancer twice, now handicapped as a result of that. Now a widower as well. Been a Cardinal fan since about 1960. Saw my first Cardinal game in of all places Houston, against the Colt 45's in 1962. I check in on CT mostly in the morning but will look in at other times as well. Enjoy the the back and forth, look on with amusement at some of the petty arguments but overall I enjoy being on here. Hey man. I hear ya. What sucks most is the loneliness. I was left standing cold after 27 years. I was on a trip to Denver with an older fellow to see the Cardinals. Come home house is empty and wife gone. All is well now.
The cancer. I dread that day they tell me. Had to be a killer. I’m 69.
My whole life involves my kids, 24,23,21. They are doing ok, but struggles do appear. After this long of living it hurts to see them struggle. So I try to make it better.

The channels bass fishing related? Eight years in FL and no 10 pounder? My biggest in MO is 8.8. I don't largemouth fish much anymore. When I fish now, it's either floating a river for Small mouth, or catching panfish under a bobber.

I spend a lot of time after Snook and Reds in the gulf now. They're a lot of fun. I really do miss the Meramec and smallmouths. But enjoy fishing down here year round.
I retired 3 years ago and float-fish the Meramec for smallmouth out of Garrisons maybe 10-12 times/year. We go during the week and especially after Labor Day.
Since September 2023 I’ve got 2 18” and my buddy has 2 plus a 19” that was a little over 3 1/2 lbs.
Just went yesterday, got about 15 between us but nothing over 13”. Great way to spend a day!
Exactly what my boy and I do, although not as often, and in the heat. Guide on the Piney years ago told me the hotter it gets the better they bite, and it's held true for me. My son pulled a 4.1 out of that stretch last year.
I usually do really well on top, even in the middle of a 100 degree day.
We usually use 4” soft plastic lizards or worms rigged Texas style with 1/8 oz bullet weight, let it bounce in the current.
What top water baits do you use?
My son is hung up on the Whopper Plopper, but I think they see way to much of that...everyone and their Brother seems to be throwing them nowadays. Tons of short strikes and missed hookups. I'll walk a baby spook, throw a small buzz bait with a clacker, in really shallow swift spots, and work a PopR at times.
