He has made a trainwreck of the roster and "Chaim-trying-to-fix-this-mess" Bloom will need maximum roster flexibility to add and subtract from the 40 man during the off-season.
Everyone understandably wants to see Wetherholt in STL, but I have no objection if that does not take place until opening day.
Yeah, that is the most realistic option.
However, for us fans it doesn't do much for the excitement level.
In my opinion, there are very few pieces on this squad that point to a successful future.
Most of these guys we are watching are lousy.
Did you see Herrera in LF yesterday?
It's a joke.
Winn had a catchable ball hit him right in the glove and cla-plunk, it falls out.
Felt sorry for McGreevy that inning.
Just plain [shirt]ty baseball is being played.
No excuse for how STL is playing the game right now.
Folks should be far more concerned about how quickly The Marmot departs than how soon Wetherholt arrives.
Sorry for the rant, but the product they've placed on the field for $150M is crazy.
I'm shocked how poor they looked yesterday.

It’s like he wants to (bleep) off the fanbase.

Let’s run a quick test on Mo’s big three qualities as POBO:

1) Arrogant—check
2) Lazy—check
3) Stubborn—check

Throw in lousy PR messaging, and there you have Mo’s to do list for this week. Fabulous!

Only prepare him more for next year. Even if the Cards aren't in the WC hunt they'll be playing games that mean a lot to them and just adds that more to his acquired experience. Surely this is a troll job by Mo.
How does it help his growth to speed past AAA? Let him develop. We've rushed every top prospect over the past 10-15 years and all of them struggled with it.
How is bringing him up for a month or so at the end of the season equivalent to his "speed[ing] past AAA." He has done very well in his near month there. (current OPS over a .1000) Maybe he will struggle a bit in he comes up but there is value in that. Get a taste of the majors and he has the offseason to better prepare. No real comparison with how other top prospects were handled over the past. Certainly no comparison to the Walker situation.

spot on..perhaps if we had given the likes of walker and gorman a bit more time they wouldnt have struggled as much...no rush with jj

Fellas, with ALL the young talent this current squad in STL has…….there’s no room for a potential .300 hitter with pop who might be the next 3b for years to come……WHO would you sit amongst this All-star laden lineup???

Next year or maybe the year after……or maybe the year after that…… ::crazya:: ::crazya::

Only a Fool would believe anything other than what is spoken to you from on HIGH

Probably a good move. See what he does in spring training.

Much has been made about how anemic this offense is. Last in MLB in runs scored since the All Star break.

Yet, after Monday’s game we were just 3 games out of the last wild card spot.

A guy like Wetherholt just sitting at Triple A. Garret Hampson taking up a roster spot.

If the front office doesn’t even try to field the best team, why should fans care?

They deserve every empty seat you see in Busch. They’ve earned it.

I honestly dont see this being a big deal unless the Cards somehow get back in SERIOUS contention and he can make an impact.

No need to rush him at this point

This man hates his job, the team, the media, and the fans. He's subsisting purely on stubbornness at this point. Anyone who cared at all about anything but himself would have retired last year.

Excellent observation...he's likes his $2 000,000...
He's so arrogant that he doesn’t believe he's (bleep) this team for awhile...

Question: what is SERIOUS contention? I know the odds of them advancing in the playoffs are long should they squeeze in.

What message are you sending not only to your fanbase but also to your young players when you don’t put your best players on the field? They were 3 games out of the playoffs after Monday night. There are 40 games left.

Why the hell is it up to Mozeliak at this point, anyway? Dude should have dipped after the 31st. Preferably before.

Bringing a guy up for a few games could give him an idea of the differences in the big show. Gives him an idea of what he needs to work on when he goes back down or over the winter. If he does well it could help them sell a few more season tickets. Maybe they think that could backfire.
