This organization is dysfunctional. They alienate and gaslight a loyal fanbase. They cut payroll and run some half-[ashed] rebuild. And then have the audacity to raise ticket prices! Hey fellas, that's the wrong strategy to attract paying customers. Hell, this team cant even conduct a proper transition on front office leadership! WTF, DeWitt? I can't believe this ineptitude led you to being a billionaire businessman!
Re: For there to be a true change of direction with new gm Marmol has
the manager can only play the players he is given. this is a .500 team and the greatest manager in the world could not improve on that. His job is to play the youngsters and that means a lot of losing.
The Cards said it was a rebuilding year and it is. Trying to blame all of this on the manager is just wrong.

He probably gets another year unless the team completely collapses. Not many mid sized market teams fire a manager following a winning season except for the Cardinals and Torre.

I have to believer when Bloom was told when he was hired he had to wait till it's his time to make the changes he wants and he is a good baseball mind from Boston. He knows how truly awful Marmol is and more importantly there are much better baseball minds are out there. Bloom will want to set his own culture and the first will be to clean house with the managerial staff and he will do it quickly in the offseason.

Let's hope so, but we don't know what ownership promised him.mizfan wrote: ↑13 Aug 2025 22:07 pm I have to believer when Bloom was told when he was hired he had to wait till it's his time to make the changes he wants and he is a good baseball mind from Boston. i cant believe the fo is so tone deaf that they dont realize that bringing back oli and his miscast group of coaches will REALLY crater season ticket sales and single game tickets. if most of coaching staff returns with little to no turnover, attendance will drop to embarrassing numbers. oli cant be making a salary that would cause the powers that be to blink in givng him the short haircut.

Are you blaming this garbage season on Marmol? Who’s the star of this team? Who was ups be the best player on any other team? When all of your power positions do not generate any power how do you blame the manager for the inept players he has to work with?Kentucky kid wrote: ↑13 Aug 2025 17:39 pm To to be fired. Why are they scared to fire him. What does he have on them , it ain’t success

Probably told Mo he had a punchable face after Mo refused to acknowledge they needed more proven talent.Baseball Savant wrote: ↑13 Aug 2025 21:28 pmMike Shildt got fired after a 17 game winning streak in SeptemberScotchMIrish wrote: ↑13 Aug 2025 21:02 pm He probably gets another year unless the team completely collapses. The question is this: Is he part of the solution.morley1 wrote: ↑13 Aug 2025 22:33 pm i cant believe the fo is so tone deaf that they dont realize that bringing back oli and his miscast group of coaches will REALLY crater season ticket sales and single game tickets. if most of coaching staff returns with little to no turnover, attendance will drop to embarrassing numbers. oli cant be making a salary that would cause the powers that be to blink in givng him the short haircut.

Luxury-box and season-ticket renewals will be the #1 off-season story in 2025-6. All laugh at the "attendance report" sham, while looking at the almost-empty stadium. Next year, the numbers might be closer to one another.
