Does Saggese have as much potential as Walker and Gorman?
As an all-around hitter and defensive player. I feel Saggese will eventually hit enough for a 2B. And it's likely his best position defensively. But if Wetherholt is penciled in as the future 2B. Could Saggese give Gorman some serious competition for the 3B job after Arenado moves on?

Saggesse has a higher floor, but Gorman and Walker have higher ceilings due to their power potential. And Walker does have other tools like speed and arm, but I've lost all faith in his or Gorman's ability to even become MLB regulars.Shady wrote: ↑13 Aug 2025 18:10 pm As an all-around hitter and defensive player. His arm doesn’t justify full time at third. I think he projects as a utility guy. If you have him at 3b it says a lot about your lineup.

Before I respond, please clarify: do you have your clown nose on or off for this OP? Because you just told us in your other repetitive “Saggese” thread that we shouldn’t take you seriously, you’re just “having some fun on a silly message board” and we shouldn’t put any stock in your evaluations.Shady wrote: ↑13 Aug 2025 18:10 pm As an all-around hitter and defensive player. Re: Does Saggese have as much potential as Walker and Gorman?
Today Saggese looks like track power in the Majors. This is not the Minors.

Just to let you know. I don't waste my time bothering to read your boring mumbo jumbo anymore. I realize you have bad intentions towards me.NYCardsFan wrote: ↑13 Aug 2025 18:38 pmBefore I respond, please clarify: do you have your clown nose on or off for this OP? Bad intentions? You mean like an internet troll who maliciously spams baseball chat forums just to get attention?Shady wrote: ↑13 Aug 2025 18:43 pmJust to let you know. Re: Does Saggese have as much potential as Walker and Gorman?
There is no limit to Saggese's potential. He looks like an every day 2B with .375/.475/.850 potential, as well as multiple Gold Gloves. There will be no MVPs for him, sadly, as Burleson has those awards locked up from '28-'31 as the Cardinals 1B. Burleson will also beat out Saggese and Roby for three World Series MVPs in that same period. We are entering a Golden Age of Cardinal baseball and we have Shady to thank for recognizing talent we could not see.
Re: Does Saggese have as much potential as Walker and Gorman?
What do the Cardinals have in the 23 year old, Saggese? Utility player or a potential regular? He seems to be benefiting by his extended playing time in lieu of Arenado's absence.

Re: Does Saggese have as much potential as Walker and Gorman?
Hello
Ever heard of JJW?
He's the 2Bman in 2026 (if NADO is still here).
Saggesse's also a -1 DRS at 2nd base or the same as N. Gorman, -2 OAA vs Gorman's 0 OAA in 62 fewer innings.
By OAA he's a worst 2nd baseman than Gorman!
Saggese is a back of the bench, SUP (if he's still here),

Wetherholt is undoubtedly a fine MLB prospect. However, he still needs to prove himself at that level. Agree? Ex, Walker's and Gorman's struggles.rockondlouie wrote: ↑14 Aug 2025 11:08 am Hello

Not long ago you wanted Saggese rotating in playing 4 games a week.rockondlouie wrote: ↑14 Aug 2025 11:08 am Hello

No I don't agree.
He proved himself in college where he was the BEST HITTER by many scouts reports his senior year.

Are you familiar with Saggese's resume' as a young professional baseball player?rockondlouie wrote: ↑14 Aug 2025 11:13 amShady wrote: ↑14 Aug 2025 11:10 amWetherholt is undoubtedly a fine MLB prospect.
