We have signed OF Andrew Sojka to a minor league contract and assigned him to Peoria (A+).

Sojka, 24, has spent the last two seasons with the independent Frontier League's Schaumburg Boomers.

The left-handed hitter slashed .312/.418/.588 with 17 HR, 65 RBI, 23 SB and a 1.006 OPS over 70 games this year and earned a midseason All-Star selection.

Sojka ranked 5th in the league in HR & RBI while sitting second in total bases (164) and extra-base hits (38) before his signing.

I have a Question What is the development list?

Developmental List allows the player to stay with the team, but not on the 30man roster. They can't play....that's it. They can practice, dress...not play. It normally used with the odd man out Catcher...who takes over BP catching duties. Sometimes they use the list on a player that don't want to release...but in this case, their hand was forced with signing the Frontier League kid for Peoria and the promotion of Levenson. And I know they don't want to release Moquete just yet...so Yeager got the release instead.

Marrero was overdue, imo. Loved his slider but he had no fastball control.

put it short: it allows the team to keep the player with the Org, but not officially on a roster.
