Re: AP Pre Season Top 25
Should they even bother to suit up?
hahaha
If this team can avoid the stumble and get to 5-0 it's gonna be a fun year as they outperform the experts.

Florida at 15 with that schedule? Not likely.
And Penn State at 2 with Drew Allar at QB?
Among others.
Gonna be some of these exposed.

Talking season.
With our recent success and massive investment in the football program, it would be nice to get some pre season respect. But in the end, win your games and it’ll take care of itself.

I’ll take Drinkwitz’s advice and ignore all the presean chatter both positive and negative.

Re: AP Pre Season Top 25
On twitter this morning I saw the AP poll. Just below was a post from a reporter stating that 18 of the last 21 years (I think that was the number) has seen an unranked team finish in the top 10.
Why not Mizzou?!

No, it doesn't speak well for their overrated coach. Talk to Penn State fans, and they know about Allar. That stupid game-losing throw against ND in the CFP was typical. He has great difficulty passing to WRs.

Allard will not have Mackay award winning tight end Tyler Warren to make him look good this year.
Re: AP Pre Season Top 25
Did not realize the Illini were pushing to be a top 10 team. They win Oct 11th they probably go undefeated with that schedule.
Re: AP Pre Season Top 25
They don't look like gimmees to me. On the road against Indiana, U Dub, Wisconsin. Southern Cal at home in addition to the Buckeyes. I think they'd take 2-3 against those guys right now.undefeated with that schedule.

Re: AP Pre Season Top 25
Drew Allar has been on every top 10 quarterbacks list I’ve seen for this season. He was considered a potential 1st round pick had he declared. Hell, the college football video game has him as the third highest rated QB.
But Mizzou has his former back up so now suddenly the guy is a phony.
Good stuff as always forum brains.
Pribula might suck, he might be awesome. Drew Allar will have nothing to do with it either way.

How do you say you seldom watched him play against most of the tougher competition last year without saying it? Here are his glorious stats from the CFP last year:Barksdale's People wrote: ↑12 Aug 2025 13:46 pm Drew Allar has been on every top 10 quarterbacks list I’ve seen for this season. SMU -- 13-22-127 59.1% 5.77 YPA 0 TDS 0 INTs 25 longest comp. 3 sacks
Boise State -- 13-25-171 52.0% 6.84 YPA 3 TDs 0 INTs 38 longest comp. 4 sacks
Notre Dame -- 12-23-135 52.2% 5.87 YPA 0 TDs 1 INT 25 longest comp. 1 sack
And from 3 other games:
Ohio State -- 12-20-146 60.0% 7.3 YPA 0 TDS 1 INT 31 longest comp. 2 sacks
Oregon -- 20-39-226 51.3% 5.90 YPA 3 TDs 2 INTs 28 longest comp. 0 sacks
Illinois -- 15-21-135 71.4% 6.43 YPA 0 TDs 0 INTs 20 longest comp. 2 sacks
How do these stats reflect a top tier QB? In these 6 games against tougher opponents, overall poor completion % and YPA, and 0 TD passes and 2 INTs in 4 of those games. With those numbers, he has not even been a great game manager. And he has been very dependent on a good run game and a superior TE.
Plus he's not that much of a dual threat, carrying 96 times for 302 yards, or 3.1 YPC.
You might want to check your own brain and do some homework before casting aspersions.
Some NFL team is going to be very disappointed in Allar if they use a 1st round pick on him if he performs at these levels. He has a lot to prove this year.

Yes, no good QB has ever had underwhelming games. Penn St. under James Franklin is also well known for chucking it all over the field….icon wrote: ↑12 Aug 2025 15:02 pmHow do you say you seldom watched him play against most of the tougher competition last year without saying it? I’m sorry the industry consensus bothers you but I’ll take their word for it over the Penn St forum posters that seem to be driving your opinion.
But here is the real point, what Allar is has nothing to do with Mizzou. The only reason you and others here bring him up is to express concern about Pribula and how he couldn’t beat him out. Which is pointless nonsense.
