Not sure how Bloom will start Mitchell's career...if he starts FCL, then that might be a Red Flag to how bad his bat is.

Yea, he came in just ahead of Joshua Baez (11th). Tink Hence’s fall has escalated, now ranked 12th

It will be interesting about Mitchell. Hopefully he’ll be in A ball to begin next year.

I think the hit tool on Mitchell is supposed to be one of his better attributes. 3 new additions to our post draft/deadline Top 10 in Doyle, Baez and Mitchell; not a bad start.

yeah, I was just hinting at I think Bloom doesn't subscribe to the training wheel method with young/raw prospects. And Mitchell would start in Palm Beach, instead of FCL. And if he did start FCL, it was b/c he (bleep) the bed in batting practice at the complex training camp.

I don’t think it’s an aggressive ranking. He was a top 100 prospect pre-season by BA. And at a higher level this year he improved his discipline over last year going from 8.5% BB%-16.1 K% to 11.2% BB%-16.7% K%. He had a 125 wRC+ in A+ with the Mets high-A team. That wRC+ was better than low-A in 2024 (119).

I’m excited to see how he progresses with us.

Thanks for posting. I'd be surprised (but pleased) if Jesus is better than Josh Baez.
I love that Padilla has fewer strikeouts (21) than SBs (24) - and it was close last year. He's also been consistent (.287 .391 .404 .795 in 2024 and .283 .396 .367 .763 in 2025) He just turned 18 44 days ago.
