Not sure it was good managing. I understand putting the veteran in for the struggling kid. But if he's a 'core guy', there's an argument to ride with him.

On the other hand, kudos to oli for sticking with Jo Jo. I thought he would run to a right-hander against Turner. He didn't. It worked.

If oli has a brain, he would use a two-man closer scenario. O'Brien and Romero based on late game matchups.

Hes had a great season. But the law of averages seem to be catching up. There was little chance his b.a.b.i.p. was going to remain sky high.

Ask the Cub fans in Chicago how they felt not having PCA at the plate for that at bat. Were they lauding Counsell for the move ? I wonder .

Armstrong has an OBP of .222 against LH pitching this year.
Turner is at .345.
The move made sense.
