Brewers fall down 5-0

No big deal to them

They rested Yelich and their top 3 relievers

Helsley gives up run to tie game on a hit by Ortiz who was hitting .223. Collins gets game winning HR off Diaz who has not given up a run since June. Collins had 7 HR's prior to today's game winner.

When your playing very good MLB and getting timely hits from people who are not stars, the machine is running on all cyclinders.

Brewers are good but not this good. They're on a roll, they better hope they aren't peaking too early. With lots of winning comes expectations. Things get tougher in the playoffs.

They are being led offensively by a 28 year old rookie and a guy that they only acquired because they moved a SP to the bullpen and he requested a trade. Their closer is a guy that was 29 when they acquired him with a career 6.03 ERA/1.62 WHIP. They turned him into an All-star. They have 2 SPs the last 2 years that were [shirt]ty AAA pitchers before they acquired them.

Most of the moves the Brewers make would drive CT crazy if we made them. And yet they've helped turn the team into the best team in the NL Central over the last 8 seasons.

I got them on my bingo card filling the 'one and done' slot

To paraphrase Lee Corso, “Not so fast, my friend!”

I think the Brew Crew have stolen the Cards Devil Magic and will go deep into the playoffs this year. Too bad Bob Uecker isn’t around to see it.

They’ve had it for more than just this year and are a pitiful 2-10 in the playoffs since 2019, same record as the Cardinals since the 2019 NLCS.

Well, actually, we are 1-10, but I get your point.

That said, I think the Brewers are substantially better this year. In past seasons, they had some of the worst regular season records to get into the playoffs. This year, they have the best record in MLB for now, with the best run differential.

We shall see…

Maybe they know something. Maybe it's just a streak. Regardless, they still don't have a World Series trophy yet. Maybe they're on a roll and will make it this year. They've been winning with guys that aren't really household names.
