As Bernie said, might as well release him.
Arenado will be replaced by a cheap option anyway. It’s not like the team would then need to spend for a 3b

The Cardinals should be moving on in a different direction. Arenado should be told he'll be a reserve player for the Cardinals. An expensive reserve at that. But that's exactly what needs to be done to build for the future. This would very likely cause Arenado to increase the teams he'd waive the NTC for.Wattage wrote: ↑09 Aug 2025 08:02 amIf another team signs him, theynonly pay the league minimum and we paynthe rest minus what the rockies are.
However theres like a 0.01% chance of arenado being dfad. Hed be moved to benchplayer first and thennif hendidnt like it waive his ntc where we would pay the half to 2/3rds the money to move him rather than dfa him and pay whole thing

Yeah, Girsch, I do. John Mozeliak is a low bar to hurdle.dugoutrex wrote: ↑09 Aug 2025 09:56 amyou think High Em is better - lmfaoJuanAgosto wrote: ↑07 Aug 2025 21:31 pmThere is a lot that Johnny bow ties doesn't understand. Mainly, there is a lack of understanding how to construct a decent roster. Or how to work during the winter. Or how to hire a competent manager.

OK. Guess it takes a lot of talent to turn a winning organization into a rebuild situation.dugoutrex wrote: ↑09 Aug 2025 12:39 pmand yet it is a high bar for high emJuanAgosto wrote: ↑09 Aug 2025 12:00 pmYeah, Girsch, I do. bloom boi is hated in Boston more than Mo is in Stl ... let that sink in for a minute
Re: If Bloom is unable to trade Arenado in the off season
Bernie's arrogance again.
The Cardinals will never release Nado. They are rehabbing his shoulder and grooming him to come back for the "2025 playoff run"
Gorman is going to be sitting next week. Oli has already said if Nado is here, he plays. Hopefully he shows enough health with his shoulder to recover a bit of value with his bat. Then they can see about a trade in the off season.
Note to Bernie: You don't have to write article after article or discuss in podcast after podcast to say the same thing and not see this coming.

In the 2026 season,Cards need to create a regular position for Wetherholt and possibly Gorman , though I think the decision on his future with the Cards plan is still undecided. If the Cards move Nado , my bet is they will need pay a good portion of his contract in a trade.

doesn't he also have deferred payments left in his contract?redbirdfan51 wrote: ↑09 Aug 2025 15:02 pm In the 2026 season,Cards need to create a regular position for Wetherholt and possibly Gorman , though I think the decision on his future with the Cards plan is still undecided. The worse he is at the plate the less likely he will be traded. Who wants a good field no hit 3B that would cost just about anything? 8 or 9 hole infielders are all over milb and would cost the minimum. Just my 2 pennies.
