JJ Wetherholt in 16 AAA games so far:

19 runs scored
21 hits
5 doubles
6 HR’s
12 RBI’s
9 BB’s

And oh by the way he started at 3rd today
I'd bring him up as soon as he passes that "rookie" date, keeps his eligibility for 2026.

You are right - it makes for a very boring product.
If the team was a paint color it would be vanilla - with a flat finish
Perhaps Bloom can bring a little a brighter look in the spring.

Hoping the brighter look into the spring is more of an upgrade from vanilla ... 'French Vanilla' ? Bold colors are in order for this team.

SS is his best position
Carefully scouty, you just insinuated the chosen one could be tradeable.
Do not be one but surprised if Bloom sees exactly the same opportunity.
Why I first floated the idea of dealing Winn a few weeks ago.

If he can land a cost controlled #2 starter for Winn, then I'd do it in a heart beat.

Bloom has no stake in any of these players, he'll trade anyone of them if it brings back what this team needs.
Bloom is a high risk / high reward gambler.
Unlike Mo, he is willing to bet big and think outside the box.
It would be very much in character for him to trade Winn and install Wetherholt's bat at SS.
As to that being a good idea in an entirely different conversation.
Could Winn land enough to really make that worth it? JJ can play 3rd as well or 2nd. IF Winn can land a couple of stud young pitchers maybe thats a move but are we overrating him a bit in this scenario
SS is one of the 3 positions that if the D is solid, an average bat is a plus player.
Winn is a plus player that realistically may improve.

I agree that all players can be moved to improve a team. If they chose to move Winn though
he needs to change this team more than another move might or a combination of a couple players may.
How much better does Winn bring than Donovan or Donvan+ bring?

JJ also plays both sides of the ball. The more players that a team has like that the better the team.
In my point of view JJ biggest impact on this team would be if he himself improved that position or by
being on the roster one of those weaker production positions are up graded. 3B, OF, and C need improvement
far more than SS and I don't have any issue having 2 players capable of playing SS.

So yes doable in a great return that makes an impact.

Gorman is looking more and more like he won’t cut it.
And that isn’t factoring in the health of his back!
But... he needs to play the last two months to help the FO make the final call on him.

No that's supposedly me for daring to add him in one of my fantasy trade ideas!
Can't live with out that 98 OPS+
Don't forget career: 19 stolen bases/11 times caught stealing

Oh shildt, here comes the abuse for both of us.
Don't forget his messed up knee 8O

They could always use him in the bully
I wish they would've been creative w/the kid and actually let him relieve as well as play SS.

I would prefer an experienced manager with some record of success in the role.
However, given the terrible state of affairs in STL, Bloom might not be able to attract one.

Yeah, but he’s a 6 DRS SS, and his OPS is only .035 less than Donny. I’d rather keep Wynn and send Donovan out in a trade, all else equal. Having two guys who are both plus SS and one of them plays second most of the time is a high-class problem.

There's little doubt M. Winn is an elite defender, that's a given.

But this team needs starting pitching in 2026 and if he could bring back a good one, then I'm all in.

The offensive upgrade at SS from JJ is just to good not to consider dealing Winn.

(And I don't think Donny brings back the quality SP like Winn could)

I don’t like it. Winn defense more than makes up for his light hitting. Put JJ at SS you still got a hole at second and third. Leave Winn in place, JJ to second or third creates a formidable infield.

As for Winn in a trade, he would not bring back enough to satisfy his defense.

You gotta have cornerstones from which to build. He’s one.

No doubt his glove is an asset, which is why on an offensive team he'd be a nice addition.

That's why I dangle him, he does have value and coupled w/one of our young catchers he could bring back a starting pitcher.

But on this team that elite defense and average bat isn't helping them get over the hump.

And no hole at 2B BDog, B. Donovan is there.

Gorman targeted for 3rd.
