Manager Oliver Marmol said July 24 that Thompson had “a setback” in his recovery but that he was scheduled to begin a throwing program at some point the following week. It’s unclear at this point if there is enough time remaining in the season for Thompson to return to game action.

But he still gets full mlb pay because he is on the roster all season long despite probably not making it if he were healthy out of spring training.
