How high would you go? 160 for 4 years? more or less

Re: Kyle Tucker
It's fun to think about Tucker and some of the other free agents, but I'm pretty sure the reality is the Cardinals won't be adding any free agents this offseason. Looking like they'll be bottom 5 in payroll next year and playing young guys.

Re: Kyle Tucker
He will get way more than 4 years some team may give him
10 or 11. His agent would hang up the phone at 4 and 160

Re: Kyle Tucker
He'll get far more years. My guess he'll go to Yankees or Dodgers. Even though he's LH I think LA will throw ridiculous money at him.

Re: Kyle Tucker
I'd sign him for that. Then sign Suarez for 3B.
Make some trades and a lineup like this looks promising:
Donovan LF
Wetherholt 2B
Tucker RF
Suarez 3B
Contreras 1B
Herrera DH
Crooks C
Winn SS
Scott II CF
Saggese UT
Church OF
Pozo or Pages C
1 of Burleson/Walker/Gorman/Nootbaar
Gray
Liberatore
McGreevy
Matthews
Pallante (or possibly a trade for another rotation piece)
Traded (3 of the 4):
Gorman
Walker
Burleson
Nootbaar

Re: Kyle Tucker
I wouldn't pay it, but I think he'll get more. Maybe not with some of the uncertainty of the CBA, but he's going to get paid.
Re: Kyle Tucker
That offense is a contender. But not unless you can use your trade pieces to get a legit Ace. That rotation isn't good enough.Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑05 Aug 2025 13:13 pmI'd sign him for that. Then sign Suarez for 3B.

Also, none of it matters because the Cardinals are not going to significantly increase payroll in 2026. 2027 after a new CBA, maybe. 2026 I don't think so.

Re: Kyle Tucker
I agree. Cards can afford both a Tucker and an Ace. But we both know they won't!JohnnyMO wrote: ↑05 Aug 2025 13:47 pmThat offense is a contender. Re: Kyle Tucker
The Cardinals will not be in the running for signing Kyle Tucker to a long term deal.

Re: Kyle Tucker
Tucker will get 7/280 is my best guess
Re: Kyle Tucker
forgive my ignorance - has tucker ever been the best player on a team? is he worth paying that much to find out if he can deal with that kind of pressure? this team needs a lot but also has to be very careful.

Re: Kyle Tucker
Kyle Tucker is projected to receive a massive contract in free agency, with estimates ranging from $366 million to $500 million. Factors like his age, strong performance, and the demand from top market teams will likely drive up the price. While some projections focus on a 10-year deal, others suggest a longer-term contract could be more appealing to both the player and potential suitors.

Re: Kyle Tucker
Still a TOR SP short but that’s easily done with the $100m they have to spendJohnnyMO wrote: ↑05 Aug 2025 13:47 pmThat offense is a contender.
