Who will be the starting 3B to open the '26 season?
Arenado, Gorman, Donovan, Wetherholt, Saggese, Prieto, Blaze Jordan, someone else. Whom would you prefer there? A lot depends on how 2B works out.

Trade for one, hopefully a GG-candidate.
Re: Who will be the starting 3B to open the '26 season?
same as it was last week... whichever player is healthy and wins the job in Spring Training.
Re: Who will be the starting 3B to open the '26 season?
that wasn't "last week".
Focus up. I haven't changed how I felt since last week.
"which ever player is healthy and wins the job in Spring Training".
I answered your OP.
Re: Who will be the starting 3B to open the '26 season?
Nolan James Arenado
Re: Who will be the starting 3B to open the '26 season?
How do you see 3B and 2B shaping up in '26? Good to see Wetherholt getting some work at 2B and 3B for Memphis. Makes sense, don't you think?
Re: Who will be the starting 3B to open the '26 season?
doesn't matter. He's good at all three, and athletic enough to play either at the MLB level.Shady wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 15:53 pmHow do you see 3B and 2B shaping up in '26? Good to see Wetherholt getting some work at 2B and 3B for Memphis. Makes sense, don't you think?
I've stressed time and again, he's a special athlete, they don't make them like him often....we got lucky to land him.
He doesn't need time at any one position.
------------
and for 2026...it's a new GM, and we haven't been through Winter trading and signing season yet....so how in the world would any of us know what the hell will happen in March of 2026?
So it's the same as last week...."the player that's healthy and wins the job in Spring Training"

far too early to even ask the question, much less answer it. Need to see the offseason and how it plays out

Not too many on CT like "sticking their neck out". Obviously, I don't mind to. My preference for starting off '26. Wetherholt 3B, Donovan 2B, Winn SS, Herrera LF, Burleson DH/1B. Gorman, Walker and Nootbaar should be on the off season trading block. So Bloom needs to try to acquire an upgrade power hitter in RF. Bloom has some decent trade pieces to accomplish that. Including some catchers in the organization.

Eugenio Suarez if Bloom decides to try to win next year. Weatherholt if not.

It’s easy to “stick one’s neck out” when one consistently dodges any subsequent accountability or responsibility for one’s predictions.Shady wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 16:43 pm Not too many on CT like "sticking their neck out". For example, in this thread you should be designating Nolan Gorman “the starting 3B to open the ‘26 season”—rather than putting him on the “trading block”—since you previously assured us he’s “the next Eddie Mathews.”
“Stay tuned.”

If Nolan Arenado is here (he will be) and healthy, he will open the season as the 3B. If we can settle this in our minds, we won't need to discuss it for the next 7 months.
