Sources: Missouri has agreed to a new three-year contract with defensive coordinator Corey Batoon. He's in his second year as Missouri's DC. In his first season in 2024, Missouri finished No. 4 in the SEC in points per game and No. 20 nationally in total defense.

Last season, the defense failed to produce a lot of pressure on the QB and their two top edge rushing recruits entered the portal. If they don’t produce more of a pass rush with edge rushers that brought in, and the two guys who transferred perform up to their expectations when they were recruited, this extension will look premature.

Has Damon Wilson opened eyes in practice? Will he be counted on to pressure the passer? Or is it too early to say?

article today on DE room and they are the most loaded on team and deepest.last years de room was short on talent and generated little rush so they went to TP and gotrdone in a huge way. Yes we hated to see awful secondary play last year but despite little talent or experience with safeties they still were 4th in scoring allowed in SEC which was remarkable.

So with much better talent really looking forward to an outstanding D this year and should be rock of the team. So can see why they extended him.

amazing since we all thought it was end of world when Baker left for a bigger brand and home. Turns out he was almost fired mid season his d was so bad and mu's was much better in results.

I really believe in this D and team overall and will outperform all expectations.
