DeWitt
You dumb [shirt] if you put a cheap product on the field people will use their hard earn money elsewhere. However if you ever decide to put a more competitive team on the field you just might see attendance increase. Your the one that has to decide the avenue you want to take.

I see a lot of games in Section 148...the fans are not coming...the team is boring...no stars...and DeTwit let Mo-ran put this team on the field...and you'll be attacked by the front office (donkey) kissers soon.southernblues wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 08:00 am You dumb [shirt] if you put a cheap product on the field people will use their hard earn money elsewhere. Unless BDWJr is willing to give C. Bloom payroll money to invest in players that are needed and simply nowhere close to being ready down below, then he's looking at under 2M in 2026.

Let's use the Cranny philosophy and make it 50%.
Crazy.
Re: DeWitt
Sure. Let’s call an owner who’s brought us multiple World Championships a “dumb shirt”. Lots of class in that.Bully4you wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 08:32 amHe's already lost 1/3 of us.rockondlouie wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 08:30 amSpot on sbsouthernblues wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 08:00 am You dumb [shirt] if you put a cheap product on the field people will use their hard earn money elsewhere. How about “things have to change quickly, Bill, or you’re going to lose more fans. And some may not come back.” Better?

I'm seriously thinking of cutting my tix down to two from the four I've held for over a decade (risk is not getting four back if they turn things around under C. Bloom).Bully4you wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 08:32 amHe's already lost 1/3 of us.rockondlouie wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 08:30 amSpot on sbsouthernblues wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 08:00 am You dumb [shirt] if you put a cheap product on the field people will use their hard earn money elsewhere. Little interest now for the last year and a half.
When you can't giveaway Cardinals tix to customers, then you know things are bad.

Re: DeWitt
Cranny, they have not really been competitive in over a decade. While I appreciate the championships that DeWitt has brought us and championships are hard to win, we have not really tried to really win either. For example, Pujols last year here, we were a fun team to watch and had a Goldy MVP year along with an outstanding Yadi year, but we did not try to go get pieces either. We have won, what 1 playoff series since 2014/2015? We cut payroll last year and really cut this year, and apparently already sounding the bells that we are not going to spend this upcoming offseason even though Helsley, Matz, Mikolas, Fedde, and a a smaller Maton pay scale will all be off the books. This is coming off of Lance Lynn, Goldy, Gibson & Kittredge contracts coming off the books. The year before, we had traded O'Neill, and Gallegos contract came off the book along VerHagen/Waino contracts coming off the books.Cranny wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 08:42 amSure. While totally fine to rebuild, we are really also not trying to win either. I understand saving salary with the looming MLB contract coming after, but surely in 2026/2027 whenever MLB Lockout is over, surely we can spend along with whatever young core we have. Especially since Gray's contract will be over, Arenado's contract will be way lower assuming he is still with us, and only Contreras so far will be the only long-term contract.
For 2026, we have 69 mill in active roster which is 19th in salary for MLB. That includes one year of Sonny Gray, probably a stretched waive or traded with some salary paid for Arenado. Only Contreras is past next year with partial money to Arenado.
It is a freaking joke that comes off that either DeWitt is either selling this team, rebuilding from ground up but will he start to pony up money again, or moving the team to Nashville. The fan base has been loyal while DeWitt, your homeboy has not.
