You dumb [shirt] if you put a good product on the field people will. Come and watch. By going cheap people will use there money elsewhere in life. If you want to lose money go cheap if you want to make money try to be a lot more competitive.

Idk i only follow the Cards lately from the fringes but sure seems like they have missed way more than they have hit on young players. Traded away some good ones and some of the guys they have promoted are just JAGs. JJ looks like a legit player, potential star, i like Winn a lot. Scott could be a player and i still think Jordan Walker will evolve but man they need to fill in the gaps with MLB talent esp SPs
Re: DeWitt
Ahhh, the good old days! Later saw Somers with the Smothers Brothers in Vegas, fun show, very entertaining. Tom doing all manner of yo-yo tricks.

Suzanne Somers possessed a Hall of Fame set of nipple boners that made Three’s Company must watch TV. At least that’s what 14 year old me says.

I probably cracked my skull 17 times playing w/ those (bleep) things, ages ago.

Yes, that could lead to a case of numb skull. Dewiit and Mo are the poster boys for why Stillman and Army are so refreshing as owner/manager. I know that Stillman is a part of a group so he doesn't have as much independent power as Dewitt, but he still comes off saying the right thing more often than not. Dewitt must have been jaded by all the years of winning and having a medium sized town support it like it was New York. To say anything about the fan attendance when for 15+ years you were routinely 3-5 in attendance every single season is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen.
The first red flag where the ballpark was taking hits on gated attendance was when the prices started to become too expensive for food and drink. This happened years ago but was noticeable on bad weather days. People would still go and dip out early after they couldn't take the heat since they had already paid for the tickets. Now with parking, and cost of food, it is way too much to make the trip down there in the first place.
2nd red flag was when the team couldn't get past the wild card rounds. The product that was being sold every year was clearly a, let's hope to win enough games in the regular season and then hope we can make a run in the playoffs. Well they repeatedly dropped the ball. Including a couple terrible managerial mistakes that led to 2 playoffs most likely being cut short.
3rd red flag and the big bomb was Dewitt being vocal saying that spending will go down if fans don't attend games. Well you just said that to a fan base who that very previous season was top 3 in attendance. That season that the Cardinals were terrible in 23 also had them at 4th in attendance. and last year was 7th.
This is poisoning of the well. And transparency goes a long way to change the fans view of what is going on. Army is always transparent. Mo is a snake in the grass. Always has been, and when your winning, people accept it. When you are losing, people want to cut off the head.

Why would he care about the bseball team, he's already seen 2 winners.
This is like when you have 70/80 year old politicians, they are so out of touch with everything, that they embarrass themselves on both sides of the aisle.

Re: DeWitt
I know that Stillman is a part of a group
STOP
He is the owner, they have small pieces, so they can say they own part of the blues, and they got involved to help tom get the loan to buy the team.
NONE of them write checks, win or loss of money, Tom writes the checks out of his account. It would be nice to have another billionaire, who owns a bigger stake, and wants to whizz money away on Blues getting to a 90mil+ salary cap.
Reminds me of the local orthopedist, who was offered a small piece of Tampa Bay lightening, he WAS an owner, but in name only. He was never going to write a check, or see a profit,
