Which is a way that's clear?
Still looking for that blue-jean baby-queen
Prettiest girl I've ever seen
See her shake on the movie screen
Jimmy Dean
(James Dean)
Rock On.
I figured you would be the first, well done.

Goldy and Arenado went backward and Walker and Gorman didn’t go forward. Simple answer to a complicated question.

-New POBO---Check

-New Manager---TBD but has to happen or BDWJr risk continuing the Mo/Oli malaise that's set over their tenure together

-Rebuilt Farm System---Check

-Smart trades---Coming this winter

-Smart Free Agent signings---TBD

Finally the #1 thing that will bring back fans is of course............WINNING!

Panic mode without a plan when Oscar died. Fowler? Seriously? Leake? Complete lack of talent evaluation for spending big bucks. Extending Miles...
Shall I go on? Not going all in when you signed Goldy and Nado. Not spending money on one or two more key players... Band aid solutions, and even they were fumbled. Guys like Motter and now Hampson is the latest.... Sheesh. Complete incompetence at talent evaluation and allocation of resources AND I am quite sure ownership has a lot of responsibility in this as well.

Sorry, but none of those things could have been predicted. And that’s not a homer comment, it’s a fact.

Well said. It’s amazing how losing one guy who might not have even panned out sent the whole thing into a freefall. They had no backup plan.

What about the trades for Ozuna, Goldy, and Arenado. How soon some forget.

Where do we go from here. Knowing; all of our children are growing up. How do we spend our time; knowing, no body gives us a dam.

No one could predict that guys get older or that prospects don’t always pan out? That’s baseball — and there was no backup plan.

Did you notice how both Walker and Gorman did the first year they were called up? And Nado was in his prime years. Your comments have wings, but lack feet.

Wait a minute: you just said Goldy and Arenado not working out were reasons for the situation we’re in now. But now you’re using them as examples of some kind of savvy?

RobbieRe wrote: 02 Aug 2025 23:05 pm In the business world, I learned the importance of building a “Brand”. Unfortunately, after several years the St. Louis Cardinals Brand has been terribly damaged.

Additionally, I also learned that rebuilding attendance, is not like turning a water faucet on and off. Unfortunately, we can probably not expect attendance levels to come back quickly. If attendance does not come back soon enough, will ownership spend the money.

How did we get here? The root cause of this dilemma is the severe damage to the St. Louis Cardinals Brand. Who is to blame for this deterioration?
I'm not one to reflexively blame those in charge when bad things happen. I was a Marmot supporter long past when many posters here wanted his hide. Same with Mo. The Cardinals brand is severely damaged, and the responsibility for that lies with the chairman. Loyalty is a good thing, even in sport, but the chairman put loyalty over everything, including the brand. When Mo and his operating team got stale and lost their way, he should have moved the enterprise in another direction to right the ship. He didn't do it. And granting MO this lame duck season with Bloom in the background is terrible business practice. In many ways this is a lost season because of that. A half-[ashed] rebuild is the result.

The brand is not irretrievably lost. It can be restored, and relatively quickly, with a determined effort to do so. Can the chairman do it? Will he, once Bloom takes over? We'll see.

You think the Ozuna trade was a good one?

Ok.
