I’m not trying to defend Gorman BUT we have watched a premier defensive 3B the last several years. We tend to think that every player can make the plays that we have seen made at the hot corner. I remember when Ozzie retired. It was hard watching other SS not make plays that we had seen made for years.

Yea but a good defensive third baseman who sucks with the bat is not the guy you want on a team like this. They should trade nado he is not going to lead the cardinals to the promise land he would be good on a team that has a good lineup where he can solidify the defense for the cardinals he is just an anchor that drags them down.

He doesn't drag the team down. That's just a false narrative that posters tell themselves. He simply doesn't do enough to push the team forward. But neither does anyone else. Get someone who is better than Nado in all ways first - then think about trading him.

Nado drags the team down in that they work on a limited payroll and arenado takes up a huge chunk to be a net negatove player. And we cant sign another 3b because we are stuck with nados contract that we cant just drop on a dime.

And no. Get rid of him while you can replace later. If we got rid ofnhim 2 years ago(granted he had ntc) we would have not only be rid of the contravt but got something in return.

Now no one will take his contract.

And thisbis supposed to be a give youngsters runway season. Nado isnt the future and just blocos playing and evaluation time. Donovan can play 3b. Wetherholts is about to come up and play 2b pushing donny anyway.

I cant for the life of me understand people trying to justify bad contracts as not a hinderance. If the youngsters suck, oh well, they can bring someone in to replace them more easily. Nado just blocks people because they feel they have to try to play him based on contract. If his name wasnt nolan arenado and he wasnt be paid that contract, hed be released to gove younger players a chance even if they did slighrly.worse. cuz he isnt the future

He's not going to be Arenado or Oberkfell for that matter but a number of games is needed to get a more valid evaluation.

Frankly his fielding is going to come second to what he can do offensively.

If he doesn't hit it won't matter.
