I'm not against it. I'm not high on his long term prospects esp since we already have Hererra as a DH option, but why not see what he can do in Sept vs MLB pitching? If he flops, at least we learn we can begin to move on from expectations and look for the next man up.Shady wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 11:34 am If he maintains something close to his current stats.12 HR, 62 RBIs,.308 BA .377 OBP, .872 OPS. Would it take an injury or two to current 1B, 3B players for Jordan to get his opportunity this season? It appears the Cardinals have another fine 22 year-old prospect, like Wetherholt, coming along.
Any chance Jordan makes it up to the Cardinals this season?

OK, to be very clear... I'm not benching Willson Contreras so that Blaze Jordan can play in 2026.Futuregm2 wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 12:18 pmPlay everyday in AAA next year? Overall he’s been pretty strong in AAA.
First 16 games: .348/.377/.591 8 2B 2 HR 12 RBI 14 R 3 BB-8 K
10 game slump: .162 with a .468 OPS over 40 PA. 3 BB-6 K
Last 17 games: .344/.382/.531 3 2B 3 HR 11 RBI 12 R 4 BB-5 K
He just doesn’t strikeout. He’s had 2 games. TWO. all year where he’s had more than 1 K.
That’s impressive for a 22 year old in AA/AAA. Both were in AAA though. One was when he was hot, one was when he was not. Both games were 2 strikeouts, too. So no 3+ K days.
2 games with 2+ Ks
34 games with 1 K
52 games with 0 K
So since there isn't a clear path to playing time at 1B, I'm not putting a 23 year old Blaze Jordan on the bench... especially when he's shown growth at each level. Let him go back to AAA, show that next jump, and play everyday. He isn't getting better on the bench in the majors.
Re: Any chance Jordan makes it up to the Cardinals this season?
True. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bloom attempts to trade Contreras this offseason though. There’s also DH if Herrera can play LF.An Old Friend wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 16:14 pmOK, to be very clear... There’s a lot that still needs to be shaken out between now and Opening Day 2026. I think it will be maybe the most interesting offseason in quite some time.

Doesn't take much to lead these bums in rbi's....heck ray Langford looks like Pujols compared to these guysShady wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 11:58 amWho led the Cardinals in RBIs last season? Just a guy or JAG. Jordan can and possibly will exceed the Burly production.

It takes Cardinals management a minimum 4 years to see what their players can do. Hopefully that is one of many things that will change under the new regime.Carp4Cy wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 15:49 pmI'm not against it. It don't take much creativity to b and m. Why don't you try posting something relevant to baseball discussion Dingerdong?DingerKing34 wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 17:45 pmYou should be banned for spamShady wrote: ↑02 Aug 2025 11:34 am If he maintains something close to his current stats.12 HR, 62 RBIs,.308 BA .377 OBP, .872 OPS. If the Cards could have a top to bottom lineup of guys who hot .280 with 21hr and 78 RBI it would be elite. The problem is every lineup has a few guys that won’t hit that mark. So you also need a couple of 30+ hr and 100+ RBI to makeup for that.

When you are dreaming prospects become mediocre, Dewitt’s work here is done.

That’s a lot to ask. Top to bottom .280 plus21 homers, 78 rbi. We may get one to that level.

I read somewhere that Mo was waiting to see how much enthusiasm there was for Blaze on Cards Talk. "At the end of the day, this is low-hanging fruit," he told Randy Karraker, "so if we start seeing ten or fifteen threads a day with fans like Shady showing real excitement, our plans to bury Blaze in AA for two years might change."

I realize I overdo it, sometimes. But I feel, as a fan, there 's virtue in trying to be enthusiastic about players that show potential to be entertaining and help the Cardinals win games.Dicktar2023 wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 09:42 am I read somewhere that Mo was waiting to see how much enthusiasm there was for Blaze on Cards Talk. Find it interesting that he wasn’t given a shot at first base with Boston after Casas injury. Instead they tried moving Campbell there a rookie who never played the position then went to Toro a much traveled journeyman with no power. Have to believe they saw no future there with Boston to let him go for Matz. Could be because he was Bloom’s guy and current front office didn’t have faith in him. Evidently Bloom believes in him as he drafted him as third rounder.
