And had a good trade deadline why aren’t cards fans rushing to see the cardinals play when they traded for players who may be in the majors in 3-4 years?

And the ticket prices are outrageous- just shows you that you can fill a stadium if you put an exciting product on the field.

If you want cheap tickets for Cards games, just wait, people will be giving them away.

Very true ! A season ticket holder couple went to the Tues. July 29th Marlin game . Parked his car in the Ballpark Village parking lot leaving 2 tickets for the Wed. Marlin game under the driver's side windshield wipers . Cards got shutout 5-0 . Upon returning to his car after the game, the 2 tix for the Wed. game were still there plus there were 2 more tix on his wife's side of the windshield ! :D

You did hear that DeWitt reportedly informed Cardinal season ticket holders that tix prices are going up 15% next year. Don't give him any further ideas about 'outrageous ' prices . He may just jack them higher.

I'll trade prospects/suspects for MLB proven talent like Preller does everyday of the week.

Well there are a million like him and Cardinals have noticed by the empty seats. Any business knows once you lose a customer it’s hard to get them back.

They are now. I can go for free anytime I want but haven’t. I go to watch superstars in their prime or a WS contender. I9/20 WS winners have had a top 10 payroll. Thats Dewitt’s first step to getting me back

Why is it that when people criticize the Cardinals, someone always responds with just switch teams? The Cardinals leadership and their arrogance has destroyed a culture many spent decades building.

He’s done both. His best trade ever was a MLB player for prospect that hadn’t even played a professional game. James Shields for Fernando Tatis Jr.

Sometimes the best trades are the ones that see future stars traded in rookie ball or lower. Dodgers traded Yordan Alvarez to Houston for reliever Josh Fields. Alvarez also hadn’t played a game professionally for the Dodgers yet. And the Dodgers also traded Oneil Cruz for reliever Tony Watson. Cruz was in A ball at the time. Those Alvarez/Cruz deals were back to back trade deadline deals. Imagine if the Dodgers had kept them both. 8O 8O

Don't quote me on the number but he's acquired something like 13-14 players who have made or made as Padres All Star teams. 8O

Reminds me of the deals Walt was pulling off during his tenure as GM here, fun times indeed.

And how sick does it make we Cardinals fans to know F. Tatis, Sr begged the Cardinals to sign his son and they passed. ::crazya::

You point about dealing for Low A/Rookie ball players is spot on and exactly what we just saw C. Bloom do (sans Blaze who he already drafted as a teen and knew all about).

Very smart to take a shot at those babies as opposed to taking a higher level player who may never amount to anyhting.

The ticket prices are not outrageous. I bought tickets in the 305 section for about 40 bucks apiece.

Yea, he’s done a nice job of turning them around. I can’t believe he’s been there for more than 10 years now. He was hired in 2014. 8O Time flies!

Yea, it would have been nice to see him in St. Louis red. I will never forget Tatis Sr.’s 2 GS in one inning game. Both off of Chan Ho Park. So glorious.

Hopefully some good times ahead with Bloom. Jesus Baez was a needed step towards that. Too often I feel like they’ve targeted players that are closer to the MLB level. Which is fine at times, but you typically don’t get the higher ceiling players when you do that. It’s a conservative approach, which I get, but there are times you need to be willing to take a little bit bigger risk.
