Closer Dennis Santana hadn't allowed a run in his previous seven outings, had given up just a single HR all year. His meltdown pushed his ERA all the way to 2.31.

Or how about the Yankees? They're in a fight for the last playoff spot but gacked up three runs in the bottom of the ninth to the Marlins after leading 6-0 and 9-4. Maybe they should have anted up for Helsley.
