Better to hail him with Hayes than haze him with hail.

Truly feels like they moved these guys just to move them.
QO for Maton

That’s hilarious

I'm sure you'd do better.

Said I in another thread

Hayes has a 7.64 ERA this year.

Honestly peripherals aren’t bad though.
Over the past few years, we obtained two pitchers that threw hard and had similar statistics, Riley O'Brien and JoJo Romero. They both worked out. At least he has strikeout stuff and has a chance. It took O'brien several years, now he might become our closer. Of course it did not work out so well with the guy they got for O'Neil, Robertson...All in all, for a set-up guy who is a 2 month rental, it is a very good return. Neither may make the major leagues. But, they both might and at least Hayes has high end potential.

Haha I was distracted and it didn't really come out right. I think whatever I was going for would have made the sarcasm a bit more obvious. Oh well, I'll take the L on it.

Let’s keep it in perspective. Maton is a guy who couldn’t find a job until spring training. He had a good season, but he never profiled as a guy we were going to get a big return for.

The Hale guy sounds like a legit Bullpen candidate next year and a potential future closer.

Doubt the Molina player sees the majors ever for the Cards. Guessing either depth for minors or traded as part of a package down the road.

I would try to sign Maton this off season.

For me the biggest miss was not dealing Romero who would have more value.
Romero is coming back. Big dif!
Romero would have brought more back based on not being a pending free agent.
Horsechit. He's an effective reliever. We still need them next year.

We could have replaced him in the offseason. His best value was to be traded now.
