The older generation isn’t as respectful or the if you don’t have anything good to say don’t say it. Players used to go into the stands and brawl with fans who were taunting them Roger Maris hair started falling out because of the hate he got from his own fans because they wanted mantle to break the HR record not him and don’t get me started on what Jackie Robinson and a lot of the black players went through. Yea the older generations just as bad or worse they just didn’t have the internet. I struggled watching the most recent Jackie Robinson movie: 42.

When you look back at America, the generations were the worst when it came to respecting their fellow man. This generation seem to celebrate what they have in common instead of putting people in boxes because of their differences.

First Cards game was in the 50's in Sportsmans Park against the Dodgers. Frank Howard was in right field for the Dodgers. Stan Musial homered for the Cardinals. Been a Cards fan all my life. KMOX was the key.

Arenado signed a contract worth $275 million to play a kid's game. He's a future HOF'er who threw a fit to the point the team that gave him that contract was willing to eat 10's of millions of dollars of it just to get him out of their organization. He came to STL because he wanted to "play for a winner." His first 2 regular seasons showed he could perform at a high level outside of Coors but he once again, as he has in the past, was unable to perform well both at the plate and in the field come playoffs.

He has since--at an eye-opening pace--digressed to a replacement-level player who vetoed a trade that could have had him playing for a new contender. He's either hidden or refused to miss playing time because of injuries when he knows his team wants at-bats for younger players who'll replace him when he's gone but rather than show leadership, he tried to play through those injuries and once again hurt his team over and over and over again.

He brings 0 leadership to the organization and has proven himself tremendously selfish through his actions. I have no idea what he's like in his personal life but if I ever met him I'd be nothing but polite, professional, and treat him with the respect he deserves for being a man who has achieved greatness in life.

But as a Cardinal, he's become nothing more than a selfish has-been who deserves every bit of professional criticism his performance--or lack thereof--deserves.

I've got a lot more respect for Paul Goldschmidt compared to Nolan Arenado. He was a real pro, during good times and bad.

Arenado is self-absorbed, had moped repeatedly in his body language and not a leader in any way. He had a chance to go to a winner and said no and frankly is holding up younger players from getting a chance.
