They're trying to clear out the position clutter Juan.

Where does he play in 2026?

1st base - Only to spell WillyC

DH - Crowded already w/Gorman & Hererra when he's not in LF

RF - J. Walker & Noot

If you could package him w/Maton or JoJo, then you might get a major league ready #3 starter.
I understand, Rock. I just think he provides more than Nootbaar. But if you get an immediate rotation guy, you have to do it.
He does.

And that's why he may be in play, teams could use him (especially as a LHHing platoon at 1B or DH).

He's in demand.

Pair him w/ Maton or JoJo and get a kid in AAA w/#3 potential!

Noot? Maybe in play but (duh) his injury history limits his appeal.

Depends on the return. I'm not in a hurry to trade him now that he seems to have figured it out. But he isn't ever going to be that feared MOTO bat some proclaimed him - IMO.
What exactly has Nootbaar “figured out”?

At this point he has the lowest
BA
OBP
SLG
OPS

of his career.

He is not good.
