Re: Off season for Bloom
Keep in mind the inevitable and likely long-term work stoppage. This will impact every move and possible move they (and most other teams) will make. I look for an extremely quiet off-season, league-wide.
Except the chorus of collusion accusations (legit or otherwise) that will be flung from the mouths of every agent and player who doesn't get the deal the wanted.

Re: Off season for Bloom
At this point, they should position themselves and hope for another Top 8 pic

Re: Off season for Bloom
They will not be spending this offseason and it won't be a reflection on Bloom. The minors will play during the lockout so at least the prospects will get better while we lose at least a year of baseball.
Re: Off season for Bloom
They shouldn't be. It's a straight lottery for the teams that don't go to the playoffs.Stlcardsblues wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 17:56 pmAren’t we blocked from getting a top 10 pick based on revenue sharing rules?
I could be wrong but this would be news to me.

Can’t be picking in top ten 3 years in a row. Best is 11JaseMan wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 18:05 pmThey shouldn't be. It's a straight lottery for the teams that don't go to the playoffs.Stlcardsblues wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 17:56 pmAren’t we blocked from getting a top 10 pick based on revenue sharing rules?

The Lottery determines who will make the first six picks in the first round
- Teams paying into the league's revenue-sharing program cannot have lottery picks in back-to-back seasons
- Teams receiving revenue sharing cannot receive a top-six pick in three consecutive seasons
- Teams that fall into either category cannot pick higher than No. 10

Realistically their highest 1st rd pick will be #12. Right now they are picking at #15.
Re: Off season for Bloom
Why not just lock out the players a year early then and force them to negotiate before the old CBA even expires? There's nothing that prevents a new agreement from being drafted to superceed the old one before it ends.imyourhuckleberry wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 17:53 pm Keep in mind the inevitable and likely long-term work stoppage.
