It would be interesting to get a picture of the stadium from Mo's first day on the job (hired on 10/3/2007, so it would be opening day 2008) versus what it will look like 9/28.
I'm pretty sure it's a stark difference.
In the middle of a heat wave? Duh.
Heat waves don’t keep people away when the team is worth watching.
Really? Is that a fact? You don’t think a heat index of 108 has anything to do with it?
Was it ‘66 All-star game……cleats melting on ASTROTURF……but its never been hot in STL before….
Of course it's been hot. And it hurt attendance. It's unhealthy, especially for older people, to sit in that heat.
Yeah, I’m sure that the joint would be packed if not for the 15,000 senior citizens who decided to stay home.
Probably not 15,000 but maybe a pretty significant number. Older people don't do well with both high temperatures and high humidity. The National Weather Service had a heat wave warning out.

Couple of hours ago it was the soccer team. Now it’s the AARP crowd that would be dying to go to the ballpark if it just wasn’t so gosh-darn hot. Tomorrow it will be traffic on 40. Anything but the truth.
I'm part of a season tix group in Section 148...I've talked to a lot of people in my area...because it's not very crowded and the team is boring...not a lot of old farts...mostly families...and the consensus is that the team is boring, no stars, and the future isn't great...thanks Mo-ran!

It was bingo night so that's why they didn't make it.
Now that's [fork]ing funny!
It's funny till you are one like me and it's not so funny! And maybe they didn't go because popcorn gets stuck in their dentures.

This what I've said all year. Even in the 50's there was Musial and a couple of others. This team has no one that draws fans in my opinion.

You can only holler Noot so many times for a .220 hitter.

Actually, Rat, it's true that high temperatures and high humidity are difficult for older people. Sorry you don't have empathy for that, because it's true. There was a heat advisory out. That will keep older people at home with the
A/C running.

It wasn't that hot in April, May and June. And the heat didn't keep them home in years past.

These numbers trending down has nothing to do with the weather. Look for that 2025 number to decline even more by the end of the season.gould.jpg
New soccer team in The Lou?
What does that have to do with the attendance trending down?

You're probably too young to remember, but why did the St. Louis Hawks move to Atlanta, and we no longer have an NBA team?

City (stupid name btw!) played downtown last night at the same time as Cards game. Cards game attendance was the lowest I've ever seen last night. Looked like less than 5k were in attendance, though there was a little weather.

Right cranny, I don't have a clue who Len Wilkens Joe Caldwell and Zelmo Beaty was. I even remember Ed Macauley when he switched over to sportscaster on the news with Max Roby.
Now again, what does that soccer team have to do with the Cardinals baseball team's attendance trending down?
