How much team control does Rogers have left?

You aren’t going to get much for a closer who they are hitting .400 against his fast ball is a two month rental and they can’t offer him QO. Too many people believed Mel that the correct decision was to keep helsley and fedde and trade them at the deadline because their value would be higher than in the offseason. Easy obvious wrong. Both should have been traded in the offseason when me and others were saying it

Roger's what?
Re: Mets gave up more to get Roger’s
The Mets did give up more to get Roger’s. Phillies gave up Abel+, Blue Jays gave up more for Dominguez.
I don’t like this trade at all. We got 3 guys who probably will never see the majors.

Literally nothing could have made less sense than targeting a small project middle”project” middle infielder.
Re: Mets gave up more to get Roger’s
Rogers is a free agent just like helsley but has a 1.8 era and 0.86 whip while helsley has 3.00 era and 1.39 whip.
But Rogers also pitched in 70+ innings and 68+ games 4 yeats in a row while helsley has never putched 70 innings or more than 66 games and only pitched more than 54 games once and frequently makes himself unavailable- says he can never pitch 3 nights in a row- and doesnt like to pitch back to back nights too often either.
Im not quite sure why they thought helsley is worth more other than the save stat. Rogers has clearly been better and more available in a game to game basis

Some complaints, like this one, are so [fork]ing stupid it's a moral imperative to do something about them.ZouMiz2424 wrote: ↑30 Jul 2025 18:26 pmWhy do you guys defend one of the pillars that ruined the cardinals so much ?

Fair point, I don't like Moe that much as he has driven the org into the dirt. But not mad at THIS haul, but hopefully this one turns out to favor the Cards this timeWattage wrote: ↑30 Jul 2025 18:34 pmRogers is a free agent just like helsley but has a 1.8 era and 0.86 whip while helsley has 3.00 era and 1.39 whip.

Weird. Those teams gave up more for pitchers who have either been better, are younger, have more team control, or some combination of those things??
That's crazy!!
Re: Mets gave up more to get Roger’s
Baez’s scouting report shows 60 power and 60 arm. 50 hit and he’s a 50 overall prospect. That’s not exactly a bad return for Helsley. And then throw in the pitchers they got, too.
Blake Tidwell and Drew Gilbert, the best prospects SF got, were both 45 overall prospects with Gilbert having 50 hit/45 power.
Not sure if you’re bad at math, but 50>45.
