If he is a GREAT prospect then I'll take it. For 2-3 months of Hels I'll take that haul.
Re: BREAKING: HELSLEY TO METS!!!
Leave it to Mo! Baez a .240 hitter in A ball, Dohm a starter who only pitches 4 innings a start, maybe. And the other guy is a part time starter who strikes out guys but another A ball player who hasn’t pitched many innings. we’ll be lucky if one of these guys even reaches MLB.
Re: BREAKING: HELSLEY TO METS!!!
I'm glad they tried to get something. The Mets have quite a BP now - which is key for the playoffs.
Diaz - Closer
Rogers - set up
Helsley - set up
Garrett - good for 2nd year in a row

Re: BREAKING: HELSLEY TO METS!!!
Baez was a preseason top 97 prospect, if that's your thing. Dohm looks to be another pitcher with the kind of arm that they targeted in the draft this year.
Further away from the majors than I would have liked, but that's what happens when they didn't trade him last deadline or last offseason, assuming there were offers.
For trading a 30 year old rental? I'll take it. Got some players with upside to follow at the least.

Ding ding ding, winner!Rosie's Rule wrote: ↑30 Jul 2025 18:22 pm Not at all knowledgeable on the Mets prospects but if correct is this a fair return for RH?
Or is this just another Texas/Baltimore type of return from two years ago?
Re: BREAKING: HELSLEY TO METS!!!
not really that uncommon for a rental
Re: BREAKING: HELSLEY TO METS!!!
I am a huge Mo critic but seriously what did you expect to get for two months of uncontrolled Helsley?Hoosier59 wrote: ↑30 Jul 2025 18:27 pm Leave it to Mo! Yet again...why get one GOOD prospect when you could get three maybes?
I hope Mozeliak never finds the cool side of the pillow ever again.

Re: BREAKING: HELSLEY TO METS!!!
AND there is still an option to re-sign Hels if they REALLY wanted to.
But I think it's time to move forward with the young guys
I give this move a B/B-

Helsley’s performance wasn’t as good as the others. Two month rental setup guy.
