Taylor Rogers was traded today too. Is he also worth more than Helsley?

Passan: The number of teams that want high-leverage relief pitchers -- and the relative paucity of them on the market. St. Louis' Ryan Helsley is the top rental option.

Tyler has had a much better year than Helsley. He's 3 years older than RH and both are free agents, so I think the Mets did well - if only because they can re-sign him.
GMs may love RH's 100 mph pitches, but so far this year, batters have too (.406 BA vs .096 on slider). He's only thrown the curve and cutter 45 times combined, but they've been hammered, too.

rogers is not a closer..helesley has been a dominant closer for several years..one trading for rogers is getting a set up man..a contender getting helesley who is on trach may well get the best return of all the deadline deals
