Could this org reasonably be in a worse position as Mo leaves at the end of the year???

Sure. The Cards are 2 games above .500 while developing young players as they said they were going to do -
Winn, Herrera, Donovan, Burleson, Scott, Walker, Liberatore, McGreevey, etc.

I hope Bloom is allowed to clean house this winter. It'll be an eventful and entertaining offseason. Much better than Mo's usual hibernation.

That would mean two things. The same owner that allowed Mo to drive this organization into an unbelievable mess and kept him in the job even this year. Mo should have been relieved of his duties 7-8 years ago. So I’m guessing MLB has moved beyond the current owners, they don’t seem to care about keeping up and competing at the major league level. The other would be that Bloom is an unbelievable capable magician and can make something of this current disaster even without ownership help. I doubt ownership is going to change their ways and get 8 or 9 quality free agents which is what it would require. I hope he is, but doubtful.

He needs to find 2 SP and 1 good bat. Not easy, but not impossible.

It won't be a quick fix but this organization needs some energy...Mo-ran being the face of the franchise is a huge mistake...if they can't see what is going on with the dwindling crowds, then they are completely out of touch...
