Dollars to doughnuts it's his arm/shoulder again
If it is his arm/shoulder, put him on the ten-day and extend it to the 60-day, getting us through the season and giving him a head start on treatment. In his present condition, nobody’s gonna want him and the best we can do is get him healthy, play him in ‘26 and trade at next year’s deadline.

He joins the Matt Adams, Walker, Duncan and others who've been put there.

He's got good speed and a good arm, but tracking balls in the OF is not very transferable from catcher.
He played the OF when he was 14. What could possibly go wrong?

But seriously, it really is just a runway season now. He might as well be learning a position now. Why wait. Herrera is more valuable with some positional flexibility rather than just a DH.
I'm ok if he wants it. The fan base had better accept the runway theory.

Very true.
without a defensive position his value drops IMO.
