Re: Cards hit Rockie Bottom, and I am glad
Worst case scenario, we bottom out and get another year of early picks in each draft round.
Have some talent seemingly on the cusp. A replenished farm to follow and might be good in 4 to 5 years.
Sorry, for those that disagree but I am an optimist at heart. Bloom is going to get the talent pipeline flowing. Will take a few years. So be patient. And New Ownership will have the ability and desire to see us Chase Championships Again.
Wait and Watch. It will be.

No Quinc, they should’ve continued starting the guy they RELEASED TODAY…..that was the move to win games…..Quincy Varnish wrote: ↑23 Jul 2025 19:27 pmSo… they should have suddenly replaced 3/5 of their starting rotation 2 weeks ago? Who would be their replacements? Would that have somehow prevented them from being shutout by the Pirates?Goldfan wrote: ↑23 Jul 2025 19:19 pmA solid hopeful season WAS possible until a few weeks ago, but the complete and true idiocy running this chitshow once again wouldn’t let it happen.
Anyone with partial eyesight could see the BP pitchers Miles/Fedde along with Pallante were Loses waiting to happen. These idiots are NEVER Proactive , an anvil needs to be dropped on their heads and they still have no ability head off a disaster seen coming from 200 miles away
This attitude of “there’s nothing we can do” is an illness here on CT
“How on Earth will they replace Fedde”. Oh my what will we do???

In two of Fedde’s last four starts, the Cardinals scored ZERO runs.Goldfan wrote: ↑23 Jul 2025 21:36 pmNo Quinc, they should’ve continued starting the guy they RELEASED TODAY…..that was the move to win games…..Quincy Varnish wrote: ↑23 Jul 2025 19:27 pmSo… they should have suddenly replaced 3/5 of their starting rotation 2 weeks ago? Now… what do we do about Pallante & Mikolas?
Note - Cards were shutout in three of Pallante’s last five starts. Couldn’t have won those games with Gibson. Cards actually won two of Mikolas’ last four, so…

If it forces Mo to make the trades he HAS to make
and
If it means the end of Oli's reign of incompetence at seasons end
Then we have choice but to welcome Rock Bottom because it's coming.

Good weekend.
Blown to pieces by San Diego by a combined 12-3 on Saturday and Sunday. The team now has a negative run differential on the season.
Since the end of May, Cardinals have the worst starting pitching staff in the entire league.
At the nosedive the Cardinals are currently on... they will get caught and passed by Pittsburgh in September and we can expect the Cardinals to finish in dead last place again.

It's funny how you rip on the supposed front office kissers bgetting angry, when the front office haters are always angry...WLTFE wrote: ↑23 Jul 2025 18:48 pm+1...but he does have a beautiful family and a few front office (donkey) kissers who will be angry with you!Lloyd Braun wrote: ↑23 Jul 2025 18:45 pm Mozeliak deserves for this catastrophic collapse, on his watch, to be his final sendoff.
All credit for what occurred from 2008 - 2022 was on the backs of the players Jocketty left behind (Pujols, Molina, Chris Carp, Waino), as well as the draft picks Jeff Lunhow left behind. As well as a hell of a coaching staff that was left behind for a few years.
Once all those players and coaches left or retired, we are left with 2023 - 2025. This is what a Mozeliak-run organization looks like. He's the President of Baseball Operations for nearly 10 years, and the Cardinals have absolutely grotesque and embarrassing baseball operations.
He doesn't deserve to ride off in the sunset a winner. Because he wasn't a winner. He was a hanger-on, taking credit for others' successes, while internally destroying what made everything great.
It wouldn't feel justified, if the Cardinals had a winning season or made the playoffs. He deserves to be the most hated sports executive in St. Louis sports since Keenan.
The Cardinals need to start a Hall-of-Shame where he can be front and center.

I'm not angry. It's a game, entertainment. I want them to be better but look at the supposed talent....there really isn't any. You don't like them splitting with the Padres? Playing above 500 ball and 3.5 games out of the playoffs?desertrat23 wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 09:03 amI certainly didn’t expect them to be good, but no one can call this entertaining.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 09:00 amI'm not angry. Hard for me to get excited when the best things people can say about Bloom's time in Boston was, "It wasn't his fault"
