I'm guessing we're getting nothing but some salary relief.

Player to be named later or cash is what we got in return.
Re: Fedde to Braves
Yep same thing we got for Fowler when we sent him to the Angels. They never disclosed what we got back for him.cardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑27 Jul 2025 17:11 pm Player to be named later or cash is what we got in return.

I'm sure we are paying the full salary minus the major league minimum.Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑27 Jul 2025 17:10 pm I'm guessing we're getting nothing but some salary relief.

Braves got Fedde and cash consideration it says. Cards player to be named later or cash consideration. THIS IS THE MO MOVE WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR.brock118 wrote: ↑27 Jul 2025 17:14 pmI'm sure we are paying the full salary minus the major league minimum.Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑27 Jul 2025 17:10 pm I'm guessing we're getting nothing but some salary relief.
Re: Fedde to Braves
Actually, if they got something for him. It's a plus. Now he'll probably go there and do fairly well.
Re: Fedde to Braves
Player coming back is to be named “Worthless.”
Tell me MO’s not a game changer at GM!

Re: Fedde to Braves
Per MLBTR and ESPN, the Cards will pick up the approximately $2.7M left on Fedde's salary.
Fedde will replace Grant Holmes, who was placed on the 60-day IL. Holmes gave up 4 runs in 4 innings last night. That's how hard up the Braves are for pitching.

Re: Fedde to Braves
My guess is another team might taken him after the waivers had been expired for prorated league minimum. No one was going to offer a proper trade for him previously so they DFA'ed him.Ronnie Dobbs wrote: ↑27 Jul 2025 17:10 pm I'm guessing we're getting nothing but some salary relief.
This means the Braves probably offered a little above prorated league minimum OR first dibbs on a waiver scrub of their own later. This allowed them to get him immediately and make sure no one else would claim him for league minimum.
If we didn't have enough major league pitching and no one was ready in the minors, this is a type of move we would make. A filler move.
He went from being the centerpiece of a trade of a dependable , but not flashy everyday starter to Atlanta asking if they could pick through our trash. Great asset management there folks.

Re: Fedde to Braves
Won't be surprised at all if Fedde pitches a sub-4 ERA for the Braves.
Also, weird stat I just noticed because they mentioned Joe Kelly is auditioning for the Dodgers right below Fedde article on MLBtraderumors.
Joe Kelly has pitched 60, YES, 60 innings in the postseason throughout his career, with only 5 postseason starts.
Pretty much spent his entire career playing for contending teams.

Re: Fedde to Braves
Yeah, I was wondering why the Braves would even want Fedde, since they're practically out of the race.
Re: Fedde to Braves
strategic move by MO, so nobody could say he did nothing.
